Okay, so drivers are not allowed to comment?? I'm really missing the logic here, when a mike is shoved up a drivers face what does he do? Carry a stapler and staple his mouth whenever asked for an interview?

And he barely even dissed the team, everything he stated was the truth. There was no exaggeration, and no assumptions...ergo it is justified. Redbull is exactly what Lewis says they are. They could be in F1 until the end of time or maybe next year. Who would've imagined BMW quitting so early? Things change mate. Credit to the three titans of F1 (Ferrari, McLaren and Williams) for lasting this many years.

It is really a shame that drivers are now so critized for speaking their mind. On top of that it was something that was so looked forward too 20+yr's ago as it connected one more with a drivers outlook regardless of the team. The true passion is slowly expiring under the wave of "I did not want to hear that" mentality.

And McLaren and Williams are not manufacturers either, so why does LH bring this up against Red Bull?

Wait what is going on, are people moaning? He has said somthing ok. It's true. RBR are a drinks company.....They are not here for the long run, they are here to see what money they can make :irked:

Simple.

10 years Ferrari & McLaren will be here, RBR will be launching a bloody rocket by then

More of a manufacturer than a drink company, which brings us full circle to his comment... can we close this thread now?

Red Bull F1 is a drinks companies sponsorship exercise.

Mclaren F1 and Williams F1 are pure racing teams every thing do is linked to F1 they need F1 thefore if they leave the company as an entity dies.

If Redbull leaves F1 they company will still sell drinks.

For example they have a bad year in 2012 Newly leaves they end up midfield they will quit.

Last time I checked, McLaren manufactured supercars/racing cars. They also manufacture the ECU racing unit which is provided to all the cars on the F1 grid.

Redbull manufactures colourful tins of high caffeine and sugar. What does this have to do with racing?

I brought Williams in, Lewis spoke about McLaren and Ferrari, he never mentioned Williams.

Spot on, I think RBR are a joke and I have always thought that. Just because they have allot of $$££ does not make them a good team. They can buy who they want but a Team like Ferrari/McLaren have built somthing up from day 1! History & Passion. That cannot be bought!

Williams; a global leader in high power electromechanical flywheel energy storage system.

Yeh, Mclaren Electronic Systems, and Mclaren Applied Technolgys

Both wouldn't exist without the F1 team.

McLaren are not viewed as manufacturers in the true sense as are Renault, Mercedes, etc. They're getting there though I agree.

My point is you don't have to be a manufacturer to be successful in F1 (look at the history!). So, bringing this up as a point against them is total bs! So what, they make soft drinks and they're successful at that so that they can sponsor an F1 team AND loads of other sports, teams, athletes!
It's a different approach, but no reason to diss and belittle especially not after being beaten last year.
