But Lewis did bring the only title to McLaren in the last 13 years so it's all good, right Hammer? ;)

That's one I use only against the 'McLaren' fans who call Lewis a traitor. It's really not a big deal since a driver of Lewis' calibre would've brought home 3 by now if his team weren't consecutive World Champions in f**king up.

So for the next three years we can change 'McLaren' to 'Mercedes' in the :censored: up stakes :hehe::wink:

That remains to be seen, if they are as talented as McLaren in making a fool of themselves. :D

What I read somewhere, and I can't remember where.....sorry. Was an interview with Lewis and a Spanish newspaper. Can't remember word for word, but the gist was...Lewis saying he'd like Alonso to win, felt he deserved it more. Spanish man went on to say that Spanish fans now had a real respect for Lewis. Lewis was completely made up! Said something like 'really, that means so much to me!' Lewis wants to be liked, and I think it's really sweet, but it's also a vulnerability, because others know this and use it against him. Snakey sort of people!

Yeah saw this...yet another example of being a softie. He needs to quit being this emo bag sometimes and just care about what he thinks of himself. Vettel and Alonso have an edge over him in this area I think.

But Lewis did bring the only title to McLaren in the last 13 years so it's all good, right Hammer? ;)

I don't think ANY McLaren fans here have been calling Lewis a traitor...

F1-Gods say "and for your sacrilege and allowing such a fluke in history: Timo, thou shalt endure 5 yrs in Marussia!"

The only Fluke would have been if Massa had won it in 2008! Especially with his farce of a win at Spa!

And hey Hammer to be fair Lewis did throw away 07, 10, 11 himself 2012 McLaren have made errors but overall I think McLaren fans have more to ask of Lewis' errors than vice versa!

2007, most delayed pitstop in history, Lewis was screaming to come in so were Bridgestone. And then the mystery glitch
2008, championship
2009 dog of a car
2010, Lewis made some errors.no more than the other top contenders, but without them he may have won.
2011, was Vettels whatever Lewis had done
2012, thrown away by McLaren.

Definitely more to ask of Mclarens errors/mistakes/poor decisions.

Mr Clueless is doing his usual provocative steps since he can't argue directly...don't worry about him bud. :hehe:

And....can't agree with your second line, 07 was a strategic mistake in China which was super costly, 10 I'll give you that Lewis was in with a shout but the McLaren was never the best car of the field. However, without his mistakes, there was a solid chance of taking it. RC has listed them out well anyway...why am I doing it again. :P

You start out by saying "to be fair" and then go on to imply that if Lewis would have made less errors he would have won the WDC in 2011?

If you really want to be fair, you say a rookie came in and performed beyond anyone's expectations in 07, and then went on to win in 08. McLaren like a lot of other teams got caught with their pants down in 09, and the only season Lewis can be blamed for with erratic driving is in 10, and there is no defense for that, clearly an opportunity wasted. But Alonso also blew it that year, so did Webber, and so on. So if you're serious about being fair don't just make statements to score points in a thread... think through them.

So the way I see it, Lewis blew it in 2010, McLaren blew it in 2007 with a scandalous embarrassment, they blew it in 2009 with an embarrassment of a car... they were put to shame in 2011, and this year they're the ones putting themselves to shame.

yes i am saying to be fair because to Lewis fans McLaren are the route to all his errors in not getting more than 1 championship :bs:

lol mystery glitch my bottom that was cover up for f***ing his own mistake up! And china well end of the day Whois driving the car into the gravel?
2009 dog of a car
a dog that still won...
2010, Lewis made some errors.no more than the other top contenders, but without them he may have won.
key word HE may have won if not for his errors. where did McLaren screw him over?
2011, was Vettels whatever Lewis had done
so McLaren isn't at fault here? That's a relief!
2012, thrown away by McLaren.
yea McLaren made mistakes but Lewis wasn't perfect either, I mean DNFing when dicing with Maldonado was pretty stupid. All in all Lewis has cost McLaren than vice versa, without McLaren you wouldn't even know who this guy was! Show some respect!

definitely not but what more could you expect from a Lewis fan.

Driving a car with punctured tyre in the wet (When the driver clearly asked few laps before he needed to pit), why would a team put their driver in the situation in the first place?
2009 dog of a car

Who cares...a dog which won races in the end of the year, thats McLarens trademark...start season like crap and finish strong when the WDC is over.

So...you blame Hamilton for that crash in Valencia? Really? Wow. Was he to blame at Spa this year too then?

You can argue back and forth as much as you like; but the bottom line is that it's a symbiotic relationship; both McLaren and a Lewis has made mistake which has contributed to championships not being won. As Bud pointed out; without McLaren, there is a reasonable chance that Lewis Hamilton may never had made it into F1, talent isn't enough alone to get into F1 these days!

I stand by my original statement Bud.
One championship
2007, 2009, 2012 unsuccessful primarily because of McLaren
2011 championship had Vettels name on it, can't blame McLaren or Lewis.
2010, Lewis could have won this if he'd made no errors

@Myown but Lewis is in F1, that's a silly argument. You don't know what would have happened if Mclaren hadn't sponsored him. Maybe Mercedes would have done it on their own and the whole outfit would now be dominating. You can't argue what might have, only what is.
