First thing I will say about this race; it really shouldn't have happened; the track surface clearly wasn't ready; no drainage; no way for the track to absorb the rain water because of the sealant that was used on the track; as required by FIA standards apparently. The rain was not that heavy; most tracks would have been able to cope with that amount of rain. That said; it turned out to be a real championship changer; Alonso has to be championship favourite now after many gave him no chance, including myself after the British GP. Hamilton and Webber are the only contenders with a real chance of challenging for the title after Korea; so I would be surprised if Red Bull and McLaren maintain their no team orders stance. Finally what on Earth was Adrian Sutil upto at the Korean GP; colliding with anything that moves; $10,000 fine and five place drop in Brazil seems a fair punishment! Now I am looking forward to Brazil; one of my favourite tracks on the calendar!

It was fun speculateing on who wanted to race and who didnt.

Alonso - No race, water pump rebuild

Webber - No race, he had to much to lose, and he did

Vettel - Yes race, because he was Q1 and needed those points

Hamilton - Yes race, he had nothing to lose, only gain points

It would have been a different story if there was no rain

webber was just a passenger once he hit the wall. as he spun back across the track, his front right wheel was clearly off the track.

Webber made a mistake...no doubt, but if the in car camera was any guide, there was zero visibility.

I'm with alias....it really should not have been run under those circumstances.

I agree with Hamilton and Brundle. Races have been run in much worse conditions. Boo Hoo, it is a little wet out. Did you see how quickly it cleared up once the cars were running at speed? They should have done a few laps behind the safety car and then run the race. Wet races, they happen and that is why they have full wet tires.

On to the race...

Schumi showed his talent here. While the rest of the cars were following the safety car around like lost little duckies after mommy duck, he was testing the circuit and where the grip was. It showed by a couple great moves early on. The rain made it a crazier race, I would have liked to see a dry race.

Vettel, terrible luck buddy. The impression of a firefighter is only a little less excellent than the Lotus driver last race. I had you as my pick for the WDC, but now I am not so sure - but no need to change horses, lets hope for some good things in the coming races.

Hamilton... You dummy!!!! You had second place, you would have taken the top step of the podium if you hadn't made that dumb move in corner one. Your team's hard work and Ferrari's mistake in the pits handed you second (which would have turned to first) if you hadn't made that mistake. I did like him raring to get going and also saying that the light was fine at the end. One of the only people on the grid with any cajones - a real racer.

Webber... You big baby. Boo hoo, it is too wet to race. I do have to give you a hand, I thought you were going to complain about the conditions, but you manned up and took your medicine for your mistake.

Alonso, stayed out of trouble and inherited the win. It is this kind of precision and patience which wins the day.

Button, what a joke. Shoulda parked the car. Glad he could at least admit it at the end of the race. But I am not ready to put it all on the car.

Sutil.. Everyone else is gonna hate... But I think you were working your bottom off on that race track. You were taking chances and had to climb the ladder a couple times after falling back down. Your luck ran out there, but you were racing today.

Petrov, Have fun back in GP2. It sucks, cause I thought you were an exciting driver to watch, but you need more time to mature and then come back to F1. Too many mistakes and crashes to be on the top of the podium... But you do have talent and we will see you again.

Best line of the race (either by Leggard or Brundle after Mark Webber went out) "Webber is in the pits right now doing a rain dance". I laughed my bottom off.

Best part of the race... The South Korean grid girls and whoever came up with their outfits. DAYUM!!!! Brazil will always be the best, but man oh man they were sexy as heck this weekend.

Great race and looking forward to next year, hopefully on a dry track when we can see if the new track has some life in it. I think it looks great and will produce some exciting racing.

His Bernieness crows about those east Asian circuits being the future of F1 but each and every one of those locations -- Malaysia, Shanghai, Singapore, Japan and Korea -- all are on the western Pacific rim and all are prone to torrential rains. I guess that means the future of F1 is amphibious.

The sad truth is Bernie could come on advanced Alzheimer's and I doubt anyone would notice the change.

I laughed my bottom off with this because I thought the same thing. The outfits were a bit of stripper tacky couture, but I'm embarrassed to say it had the intended effect.

I thought someone had been going round giving all the girls wedgies.

No wonder why Massa tripped on the way up to the podium ceremony :P

Anyone know where I can watch the last 20 laps of the Korean race? The darned thing took so long my recording cut off. Who schedules an F1 race during monsoon season in East Asia?!?

One must adjust their schedule so they can watch the races live to edit all the down time. Fortunately SPEEDTV did the editing for us americans, luck of the draw I guess.
