I do enjoy reading your over the top rants, however i really would recommend you calm down and do a little research before going of on a rant.

Try watching this? its taken from a BBC documentary which was released after the 2007 world championship.

Oh and i'm the same age as Lewis and at his age i was quite adapt at helping my dad fix his car or repairing my bike or for a wider example fixing a pc.

So i'm guessing at 12 or so Lewis with the help of his dad was able to engineer and set-up a go-kart since thats what he was racing at that age.

But as usual i have to point you to the error of your ways i'm getting abit board of doing so, so do PLEASE try and research a topic before quoting me and having a rant.

Alternativly if you are unable to do that simply don't quote me or respond to my posts.

Thanks

Hell man, if I hurt your tender feelings with my little joke, I sincerely offer my heartfelt apology and beg your forgiveness. I am sure that is not good enough for you, so perhaps DD can whip me a few times. :hehe:

As to your precious Lewis, I hate to break this to you but race setup is beyond a 12 year old. You would know that if you had ever attempted it. Sure, he can hand dad a wrench...or even put the proper air pressure in the tires but that's about it. A 12 year old has not developed the cognitive skills and deductive reasoning to manage something as complex as setting up a race car. He could, perhaps, set toe, camber etc to specs that someone else gave him...but that's it, and that's the point of my post. You are so enamored with your dear lewis, that in his case, you wish to forgo the limitations of human children and the reason why we are not all rocket scientists at 12 years of age. It's because we don't develop that fast, it's a human restriction. It's the reason why college comes later in life.

On the other hand, you may be correct in that dear sweet Lewis possesses an intellect and brain function dwarfing mere mortals and is obviously descendant from the aliens that brought him here wrapped in his cape with an 'S' emblazoned on it......or he could be just a decent driver who once had a fantastic car and now doesn't. I dunno...could go either way I guess.

That was a cool video Longbow thanks. You're right, it's a shame some people become hysterical about lewis when they are in possession of so few of the facts. Well they will have to live and learn! One day they will see the eror of their blinkered thinkng.

I see your point of course, you being the poster girl for impartiality. I will certainly reexamine my thinking. So after this year, after driving a car basically as bad as button has had when in Honda....and after Button has been given a car as good as Hamilton had in 2007 and 2008....do we compare number of wins to determine which is better or should we count up how many times each took a really good car and stuffed it into a parked car in pit lane? Ran over a car on the straight? Parked it off the pit lane gravel trap? Hit the pit lane speed limiter on accident? I'm just wondering when Button is going to make Lewis level mistakes and cost his team the championship...and when he does, if you will give him the same benefit of the doubt you give Lewis? Only asking so that I can get a better understanding of this blinkered thinking you speak of.

Oh dear how very predictible you are "i've hurt your feelings" i bet if i searched the fourm for that statment you would be the poster every time.

you ever tried shaking it up abit thowing a diffrent pathethetic attempt to get to one of us Mclaren fan's every so often rather than use the same....old..boring line.

Don't get upset now Bill i'm not having ago at you personaly i'm just saying you need to be less repatative.

well ok if makes you feel a little better you did get to me a little....no no i shouldn't lie to you i just laughed when i read that line.

Yeh you've used that "precious" line before aswel you need to stop watching Lord of the rings so much mate i think.

No i've never attempted race setup we i'm getting the distinct impression you have so it really can't be that hard i'm guessing.

And i agree Lewis prob couldn't setup a Race Car when he was 12 thats why i said WITH HIS DADS HELP (i do apologize for using caps its i'm not getting angry at you don't worry i'm just pointing out something that i posted and you missed with big bold letter so you spot it this time.

Also I'll add A GO KART isn't really a race car is it, therefore it don't have the inherent difficulties associated with setting up a race car.

Now i'm just guessing, but This is is properly the reason its entered before major race categories.

My god bill i thought you were agreeing with me for a moment, but i read on and found you were doing yet another repetitive little comment.

No i don't believe I've suggested that at all i think you've made all that up in that head of your's that thinks all these witty comments.

I'm begging to wonder what else you've perhaps made up..?

That's one reason why I'm not bored at all if JB wins all the time. I can appreciate a masterful flawless drive and enjoy it as I enjoyed watching the master of masters MS :)
LH has made too many bone-headed rookie mistakes while driving a superior car for me to be all admiring of his talent. So, then other factors come into play whether or not I take a liking, and so far what I've seen doesn't convince me...

And yes, I'd gladly take you up on the :whip: suggestion

He's a rookie look at the other rookies Piquet? for example.

fine he's made a few mistakes but in 2007 he was pretty flawless and in 2008 he had some big mistakes but some amazing performances.

For example when Lewis was winning at silverstone by over a minuite on inters rubens was unlapping himself one x-wets.

His team mate Jenson also x-wets was getting stuck in the gravel.

You're missing some vital points here (but thats to be expected)
Yes Lewis made errors, he was a rookie, he had a double world champion to contend with for one year, he had competitive ferraris with good drivers in them both years. He did NOT have the car that was easily the class of the field. STILL managed a championship though.

Lewis in his poor car is still punching above the cars weight and comprehensively beating his teammate. What did Button do last year at Honda-oh he got beaten by his team mate and never looked anything.
Take the blinkers off Bill!!

but in 2007 he was pretty flawless

E.g.

Big call for a rookie to override what the team are telling him to do. Hadnt he taken a lot of stick for doing that once before??

A 12 year old has not developed the cognitive skills

Just wanted to point out that cognitive reasoning begins at the age of 7. Check out Piaget.

read the link?

Yes, he could have taken the wet pit lane entrance slower and more carefully than he did, but McLaren should share the blame for not changing the tires when they had the opportunity. The tires, as shown here, are worn down to the cord.

more the team than Lewis i have to say for that one but he did mess up brazil hence why i said "pretty flawless"
