How about we come together and rejoice as we are British and Hamilton WON!!!

Not all Brits support or follow Hamilton, me being one of them, I appreciate his driving talent but I'm not a fan! Plus this is an international forum, we have members from all four corners of the world!

The race itself I felt was dull; apart from the final half dozen laps when we saw some movement in the top 10; Catalunya has never been known for exciting racing and today was much of the same.

Driver of the day for me goes to Romain Grosjean, scoring points for Lotus while team mate Maldonado crashed and bashed his way through the race to score exactly zero!

OK, so I have to voice maybe the one and only thing that is starting to wrinkle me a bit about Lewis: he needs to pull back on constantly talking up Nico ("Nico was faster than me today/this weekend" or "Nico did a fantastic job"). This is the guy that wants to scalp you…quit feeding his ego! This is where Lewis should be working on shredding Nico mentally. Yes, always out qualifying and beating him in races is starting to do Nico's head in but don't give him any positives. Lewis' only real shortcoming IMO is developing that killer instinct. While your enemy (rival) is down, don't offer a helping hand back up. Put your boot on his throat! Lewis is just too nice of a bloke. He can be all lovey-dovey after the Championship is over but give your rival NOTHING during the fight.

Such fun though...

I hate to burst your bubble; but, if I'm Rosberg, I'm not going to like Hamilton's "crumbs" after such a close fight!
In fact, if I'm Rosberg and Hamilton keeps this up, not only is it going to sound like a pity party, it's also going to
sound like he's talking me up and then adding "but, I beat him, anyway... again..."!

Exactly my thoughts, I was thinking that as I was reading TSC's post! Great minds n'all... but probably not! :hehe:

The downside of that is: Fools seldom differ!!

Great race by the merc boys, Lewis showed again how good he is at the in and out laps ofpitstops, gaining massive time on Nico despite the stops being 1sec+ slower, Nico showed again why he will not go away this year but needs to work on this or Lewis will just jump him in the pits when hes in the lead :wavey:

Driver of the day probably Seb, but Ricciardo was 30 seconds clear of the nearest non redbull, showing how dominant that car would be if Merc had fluffed up their car this year

Nicos reply when asked how many more laps he would need to get past lewis saying 1 more lap grates me (Barhain anyone?), he really needs to start showing Lewis some respect ) :nono:

Pastors 5 second penalty served on a tire change, wtf, didnt realize this rulechange :banghead:

Yes, but you're not Rosberg. He strikes me as being wired a bit differently. In as much as Lewis is consistently beating him under all kinds of circumstances, Nico may feel like he still has a shot because his team-mate is showing some weakness. All I'm saying is, even if Lewis thinks it, he should refrain from saying it. If he feels the need to comment about the weekend or the battle, say something like "Yes, it was a tough battle with my team-mate but I wasn't about to let him win!" Something to that effect, sending a message to Nico that you can try all you want but I'm not having it. In essence, Lewis is doing just that on track but I think when there is opportunity for chatter in front of a mic, he should be as verbally aggressive there too. This isn't a Who Is The Nicest Guy Championship. Nico is a strong driver but knowing how sensitive he can be, Lewis should be living between Nico's ears more. Just take up permanent residence there…move in with the dog and everything, including Lewis' shiny Championship trophy. :hehe:

I was so chuffed all through the race for Dan, super effort from him the whole weekend. It was awesome .... AWESOME .... watching him on the podium. Today, his perennial smile had a great reason to be there.

It was another excellent drive by Lewis. He did everything right, down to keeping his cool as his team kept fumbling the ball. I was so impressed with his ability, in the middle of a race, to also keep track of, and rightfully question, some of the team calls. This year he is "in the zone" watching that is a pleasure.

Today was Seb's best showing of his true champion skills this year. He drove an excellent race, passing in places at this circuit that are not normally passing opportunities.

Top effort from Romain, he really did a god job to get points.

I was a little sorry that Kimi couldn't hang on to his place ahead of Fernando - he worked hard and drove well in both qualifying and during the race. I really hope he take the "team mate" challenge within Ferrari into a real competition for the rest of the year.

Today's performance would have seen both Mercedes lapped and fail to finish in the top ten of last year's race. ... I'm just saying

How would people rate the Grand Prix out of 10?

For me, it took a little while to get simmering, but it developed into a really enjoyable race. Plenty going on, 7/10?

Hopefully we'll have more close encounters with the Merc drivers.
