Could the ducts possibly re-direct some of the exhaust gases down along the lateral edges of the floor to try to achieve a similar ( if not as efficient) effect?
Remember the hubs can have a rotating vane inside them, as part of the brake bell, for example......
The problem with supposedly banning something, is that you don't just un-learn/ forget the technology, you just seek another, legal way to implement the same effect.
Hence the FIA has issued a statement that they will take a close look at the cars in Jerez, to evaluate whether teams are trying to exploit the exhaust positioning in view of specifically gaining any aero-dynamic effects, contrary to the intended purpose.Interesting weeks ahead I think. Mercedes must be working overtime in the windtunnel and composites shop making and testing all the little tweaks seen on the other cars!!!!
Just noticed what a neat job Red Bull did of what appears to be pairing the driveshafts, and the rear bottom wishbone leg into a common fairing. Amazing that they appear to pick-up the wishbone half way up the upright. Must be one strong unit to take the bottom wishbone load's that high up. Pull rod rear suspension also allows aero-beneficial slightly smaller top top wishbone profile, as the tensile load is shared between the two members....
