Not that I am saying that this is what it is. However if a system could do what I am about to describe it would be useful. The light flashes a moment before the wheel locks. Maybe a system that could detect a wheel about to lock flashes a light (think ABS) warning the driver that it is about to happen and to release the brake slightly.

Useful, but the light wouldn't have to be out by the brakes when there's room for a light on the steering wheel.

If the system is totally separate no one can say it is an ABS style system

it actually looks like a laser pointer, could be as simple an explanation as some idiot in the stands but that wouldn't make for salacious conspiracy theories. :)

Stunning targeting (especially as there is no opposite grandstand that far up from turn 14 on the other side)! Not to mention the reflexes needed to turn a laser pointer on and off in the space of a video frame :D

For a second WB's theory of a laser pointer made sense, then I came to my senses and thought,
"Hamilton's moving! How could anyone follow him for that long and still get it spot on like that?"

Unless... just to start my own "salacious conspiracy theory" maybe he had a passenger!! :yikes:

(( ))

It's a light because there's clearly a reflection, although Spanky seems to think he knows exactly what it is....

... of course when Ferrari deploy theirs it will be a red light.

:hehe:

For the driver, it would be more beneficial to have something show up on the dashboard, from where the driver sits, I doubt they would even see that flash on the wheel.
Is there any ERS recovery from the front wheels or is it all from the rear?

Isn't the footage from practice, they could have been testing/monitoring something

Come on Spanky. Lets not speculate - there is no point discussing it until we know the facts.

The light on the wheel was spoken about on reddit and someone gave an opinion that it was a camera artifact and gave some info to back it up

Now now boys and girls, I didn't say we can't speculate (the quote is below) I just like to distinguish between "speculation" and "evidence"

As I mentioned, those who want to speculate and make up other veto powers or meanings of course are free to do that

Make up veto powers? Are you saying there's no such thing as a team having veto powers in the sport of F1? Hmmm.

I know you own a car

I can speculate about make, model, colour, engine, age etc. So I speculate that your car is a beige 1969 Dodge Phoenix 318 V8.
I can make my speculation even wilder, I speculate that your car is used like Mel Gibson drove in Mad Max 2 to drag peoples dismembered arms behind it.

I was correct about you having a car, but how accurate was my speculation about the car? :)

As you said elsewhere, lets end it here as well. Feel free to speculate away
