So when you say you smoked yoru last cigarette are you saying you ran out and it's too late to go out and get a pack or you're saying you're making a push to quit for ever???

Believe it or not, I've never smoked a cigarette in my life. At one point during my school years, all of my friends were smoking a pack a day, and I just didn't get it, I would want to vomit every time I even took a puff, I have a repulsive feeling when I smell a dirty ashtray so I'm wondering if like alcohol, some people have natural aversion/attractions to certain drugs.

I smoked the odd one every now and then during my educational years, but never got addicted.

It's not something I could afford to take up now!

Freaking good luck stonemonkey. Dunno if you tried before (i assume so) but days 3-5 are the worst, then it gets easier in my experience. Last time i managed to quit for a while was over the end of last year/start of this year, but i fecked it up and caved in...

Thanks, yeah I've tried a few times before and stopped for quite a while a couple of times. Once for about 2 years after a collapsed lung although I was smoking other stuff over that time but something happened and I started again.

Days 3-5 are the worst (but not that bad, really) and then it's very easy. Over 2 years now for me.

12 -13 years ago I stopped. I moved and in the new place just did not allow ashtrays etc. The new house routine did not include fag breaks. It took about 18 months for me to stop following people smoking around like one of the bisto kids.
