“We want to have a better season than we did in 2013, too."

No kidding, I thought every team just love having one of their worst ever seasons!

No mention of MW at all in the statement.

Mclaren are just evolving their management structure like Merc have done. Eric Boiler will be acting as traditional trackside and factory TP. There will be a new chief exec to take care of the business end, sponsors etc, like Paddy/Toto, and both reporting to Ron who represents the board and owners.

Instead of Paddy/Toto(also board) reporting to Lauda Mac have Eric reporting to the new CEO who reports to Ron. But you can bet your bottom that Eric will directly report to Ron in practice

All in all fantastic decisive action from Mclaren. Lets hope we hear no more ever from the previous guy who left the mess

I kinda feel a bit sorry for Whitmarsh. Sure, he couldn't cut it as team leader but McLaren are really treating him like a loser right now, no voice at all since the Ron news. He seems like an innocent dumba$$, so it's not too hard feeling a bit sorry for his state right now.

I liked him. Like it could have been worse. He was smiling, lughing about, letting perez and jenson race. He had all the opposing qualities of mclaren.

I'm confused, then why do you support McLaren if you like opposing qualities to McLaren?

Good question. I don't have a clue really. They were the first I saw, so they are the ones I support. Never have changed my team

i have no sympathy for him whatsoever. In fact I am thrilled that Ron is sending this message to the whole paddock. Its what sponsors and stakeholders want - a tough unsentimental and ruthless change.

Also lets not forget that Ron has been trying to remove the other guys for 2 years and was thwarted by the politicking. the other guy should have gracefully resigned instead of fight it out with the true head of the family.

Ron let him become TP because he was forced to resign, therefore the other guy should have been decent enough to continue to play ball, instead of stabbing Ron in the back and cling on to the job by bypassing Ron who placed him there. he put nimself above the good of the team and should have resigned the miute Ron asked him to

Good riddance to bad rubbish, and I still seeth with anger when I recall the shenanigans when Button started, taking Lewis' engineers, sharing data and then using it to try beat Lewis. Obviously trying to humiliate Ron by winning with his own lame duck

Yup he definetely had the opposing qualities - like happy to try harder next time instead of now. Claiming the lead driver who qualified in 15th and made up a few places was a good result. Telling the world he had promised to kiss his driver not just on the cheeks but inbetween ( I still cant believe he actually said that). Claiming Button was PEERLESS at feedback and was one of the fastest drivers in a team that previously had Senna, Prost, Lewis, Mika

Yup opposing to winning at all costs

Dude did he actually say this. :hehe: Drop me a link if you have one please. I'm not doubting you, just not able to find it right now.

he said it on air at old red button BBc after race show. I remember trying to find it and though hard it is actually quoted in a report somewhere. I think it was Silverstone.
When I have time I will find it, it should be linked in one of my previous posts

Inbetween as well :yikes:

thats what you call a proper brown nosing TP :hehe:

And lets not forget him telling the press that his mothers opinion about the job he was doing was what he clung onto instead of the mean press

Its criminal that a middle manager with hormonal crushes is allowed to politick past a guy who created a top team by rising from a mechanic
