Practice Session 1 to start in 40mins....

The second practice is on Speed channel here in NYC @2AM. I'll be watching. lets see what MM and lewis Hamilton can do this weekend. It's time to get it together, although it will take a little time to get the new diffuser package working. I know the team was just waiting for the ruling. Lets go boys, get the MP4-24 up to speed---Lewis Hamilton will do the rest!

NYC - Get a rope :D !!! 1am for me.

Same here. DVR is a blessing. :D I usually just watch qualifying and the race live.

I try to watch as much as possible live because there is just something missing with a recording. I do not record practice or qualifying anymore just the race, keeps the cost lower :hehe: .

Have we had any predictions for the weekend yet? I think RB will get a win.

honestly ??? me hoping for a JB hatrick .... really i do ....please let it be so..

I'm with Frosty. People keep forgetting about Red Bull's ability this year. They were quick in testing.

Sebastien Vettel should've got 2nd or 3rd in Australia. And would've finished close to that if not for a dubious penalty decision and poor weather at Sepang. The only problem was his anti-stall stalled. :D

Mark Webber also could've done better at Albert Park. And did get points in Sepang. All this from a team that has no diffuser controversy, and I don't think they're running KERS. They are just as good as BMW this season; BMW have just had a bit more luck. They are actually a very quick car...

I don't know what the results are of the first session of practice. Can anyone tell me?

You will see Button, Vettel, Hamilton, Alonso, and Barichello in the top five. But I'm not sure in which order. Using logic, I reckon it's unlikely Button will finish first. Because 3 out of 3 is ridiculous odds. Hamilton can drive well on dodgy tires. I think the tire selections will be Button's downfall, and you will see Barichello finish ahead of him. Mark Webber will finish in the top eight, Along with the Toyotas. There is no reason for Mark Webber, purely than I want him to. :hehe:

Ferrari are in dire straights. They tested their new wing. Is that illegal? They were to busy wagging their fingers at everyone else, and fighting arguments, that they forgot about their car. So it's Ferrari's own fault. TBH, I don't want them to get points this round, because of their bullying the other three teams. :irked::thumbdown:

I only think one of their cars will finish. But which one? The reason why I say that is because they are clueless enough as it is. Throw in this challenge with the tires and they will suffer. Hats off to McLaren who were actually working at their car, during the diffuser controversy, and also Renault.

Well, I've just got the news. Hamilton 1st in practice. Kovaleinen 4th. And the two Brawns in second and third. My only positive is that Webber finished 5th. This once again proves my statement that Red Bull are very strong, without a magic diffuser. He was followed by the rest of the Magic Diffuser Gang.

Vettel: A miserable 12th. :(

But then, perhaps this circuit doesn't suit his driving style. Is that possible? It is also just a practice session. We still have P2, P3 and it's the qualifiers that matter.

Funny - Nelson Piquet last. While I do feel sorry for him, I also can see the funny side of this. He did come to Formula One too early, or perhaps shouldn't have come at all. :whip: Senna for Renault 2010 I say.

With the Ferraris coming 11th and 15th, once again, shame on them.

Cheers, Ferrari have just said they are not running KERS this weekend

Force India commercial director Ian Phillips on 5 Live Sport Extra: "Ferrari are in a mess. They haven't got anything new on the car here - in fact, they've taken the Kers off. I don't know what's going on - but I understand a double diffuser is a long way away for them

First practice doesn't prove anything, but it looks like teams such as McLaren and Renault can just bolt on a new diffuser and go fast.

Watch for the times tumbling in second practice. In previous weeks, McLaren have set decent times in the first session and then set the same kind of times in the second session whilst everyone goes quicker, so it could be all change. McLaren have put a new diffuser and front wing on Lewis' car, so the multiple upgrades must be designed to work well together (which would explain why Kovalainen isn't going as fast with only the new front wing).

Renault boss Flavio Briatore reckons the ruling in favour of the 'diffuser three' has made a farce of this season's world championship. He reportedly told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "Our (McLaren, Ferrari and Renault) drivers are or have been world champions, and then you have a (Brawn) driver who was almost retired, and another who is a 'paracarro' (Italian for a roadside concrete post) fighting for the championship. I don't know how we can say we have credibility."
