I don't think there's any doubt what happened there, it's clear as day. Hamilton turned the wheel to push Massa off the track.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Armchair racing at its best!

Lewis was taming the slide in my opinion.

Pretty damn obvious to anyone who knows anything about driving and the physics behind it.

Had a fairly similar moment whilst karting a few months ago on the tightest bit of the track. How we got down there two wide is beyond me, I'd have expected us both to just be wedged between the sides. In fact, how I got the thing to turn that corner at all at that speed... :hehe:

Thing is. Both Domenicali and Massa called it as a racing incident, you can see the cars (that is, both of them) visibly sliding through the corner. I don't see where the problem is, as they both made near-identical moves to stabilise them. Had they not done so, they would probably have made worse contact.

Solution to the team orders debate would be just to scrap the WDC, but of course then that would probably turn off a significant chunk of the fan base...

Mclaren should have been able to judge that with Lewis starting further back than his car should allow him means that he will be constantly fighting throughout the race and would therefore need more aggressive engine mapping and thus more fuel. Pretty sad mistake really...

What great race that brought a lot of joy to Tifosi everywhere.

I got the image below from another forum (so I can't claim any credit) but it will just give some idea of how happy the fans are in Spain:-

YEEEEAAAAAHHHHHH IN YOUR FACE!!! !!! !!!

other than that, my Laptop was stolen on saturday night so i'm in a F'ED up mood. That would explain being 1 day late on the above.

was kinda hoping to read news about Lewis grabbing a penalty post race for the Massa incident... but the stewards gifted him that one hehe.

Speaking of gifts:
WTF about the guy in the press conference starting the "questions" with a statement of his own: "Red Bull GIFTED you the win..."
F**K YOU man. If you knew anything about racing you'd know nothing is GIFTED. If you want to get your own statements accross get a blog. So yeah... F*** OFF moron, and by the way: IN YOUR FACE.

Interesting race... kinda like everyone deserved a good position... Lewis had a good race, Massa as well, Webber near the end also... Di resta and Sergio Perez... it was really good watching all the battles in a darned awesome track.

:wavey:

gee, this is an annoying post ;) ah well, at least i didnt use the dancing guy smilie

On the schumacher and Kobi penalties. both were unnecessary and interfered with the race.

Really? I thought both were well deserved, of course they interfered with the race, their supposed to be a punishment.

Schumacher was well behind Kobayashi, and it looked like he under-estimated the DRS and just couldn't slow the car down. He even admitted fault for that himself.

Kobayashi also had a clearly unsafe release into an oncoming car.

Schumacher had a punishment, he lost his wing. Why deprive fans of a race by interfering. It was racing. this is motor racing and cars will touch.
Yes Kobi was released unsafely but that wasnt his fault. Take points off the team if you must but let Kobi race.

The FIA don't seem to accept incidental punishment, (like Alonso getting a time penalty when he ran into the back of Hamilton despite having to pit). I guess its so they can point out they have acted and punished, they need to send a message.

I don't agree they should say, lets not interfere, its their job to try and correct matters when someone races by breaking the rules, otherwise rule breaking has a greater reward to risk ratio, and more drivers start to do it etc.

I'm not sure if it was Kobayashi's fault or not, it looked like the lollipop man put the lollipop down again, and Kobayashi drove past it (not really sure though, only seen the incident once). But it doesn't matter, its a team sport, it wasn't a personal fine, it was against the car rather than him. So it was a team centred punishment, because the team is based around getting good results from the car.

----

I haven't watched the Massa-Lewis incident in detail, but I still think its Massa's responsibility there to find a safe way around Lewis, all Lewis has to do is not turn into him when they're side by side.

Wow, really? SF and Alonso score their first (and very decisive) victory of the year and this was what you were kind of hoping for?

It was a racing incident. Thats agreed by all concerned and all experts. The reason lewis was struggling to make that corner was because he'd been conserving fuel for ten laps, his breaks and tyres had lost heat, he said that on stage after the race. Just be glad he had to conserve fuel otherwise it might have been Alonso he was getting on the last corner not Massa!

I mean for today, after not seeing media for 2 days.

It was a very emotional win... the whole Froilan Gonzalez thing was pretty poetic. Really nice. :cloud9: you could tell Alonso was even teary eyed...

yeah... racing incident.
But nothing wrong with some icing on the crushing-defeat cake; except the sugar is bad for you.

Although you could also say he was running faster than he should have, because he was running much lighter ;)
