Interesting notion WB. If not actually true their May be some causal relationship between the two events

The first clue is we here Matt Morris designed the car. The guy only left Sauber in the middle of last season, then there is this stuff about Tim Goss spending a lot of time in Japan. Would make sense to put the A team on 2015,

But surely Honda don't have the fixed dimensions etc yet, surely they would wait to see how others get on before finalising structure etc. but if the tub is based on Hondas preference 2014 could be a world of pain. If they have to redesign and rebuild the tub would take weeks

Maybe Honda will have a very different philosophy to Mercedes about engine fitment

According to omni course it sounds like part of the problem with the MP4-29A failing it's crash test is that Tim Goss has been spending too much time in Japan consulting with Honda about the 2015 integration. So it's been left to the new guy from Sauber Matt Morris
I remember mentioning when Mclaren employed him that Sauber seemed to massively improve afterwards
Omni also say there is no sponsor and that the car will carry Jenson and Kevin stickers to fill the gaps.

Apparently McLaren have been hiring laminators in a hurry. Laminators would be the ones to layer the carbon fibre sheets that make the chassis. This could point to the structure failing crash tests because it's not strong enough. Now if that's the case then strengthening it will affect the whole design and of course add more weight and volume

I think we can forget all about McLaren at Jerez

Looks like an Oxfordshire based team is having problems as well.

Honda McLaren Mercedes

That would go down well in Tokyo. Nah give it up, there is no title sponsor this year, you thought they would change their FB page twice, surely even you dont think they are gonna change all heir merchandising and waste all those 49.99 shirts they have in stock?

it aint rocket science, repeat after me 'there is no title sponsor for 2014'

Really, not gonna sell many this year anyway.

So finally McLaren come clean on the new sponsor

McLaren has made clear that it will not be announcing a new title sponsor when its 2014 Formula 1 car is unveiled later this week, following Vodafone's decision to cut its ties with the team at the end of last season.

The Woking-based outfit enjoyed a strong partnership with the telecommunications giant from the 2007 campaign, and rumours have been building as to which brand will fill the sizeable gap moving forward.

But speaking to Pitpass, Managing Director Jonathan Neale said: "We won't be announcing a new title partner when we launch our new MP4-29 on January 24th, but our roster of sponsors remains the envy of the pit lane.

Jonathan Neale"For example, Hugo Boss has been with us for 33 years, Tag Heuer has been with us for 29 years, Mobil 1 has been with us for 20 years and SAP has been with us for 16 years. More recently, we've added equally important blue-chip partners such as Santander, GSK, Johnnie Walker and Hilton.

"Moreover, and importantly, McLaren Group is a private organisation, not a PLC. As such, whereas in previous years we've sometimes shown a very healthy profit, running to tens of millions of pounds, we don't have shareholders demanding that we do that every year, as PLCs do. Indeed, our shareholders don't take dividends – instead they're motivated by the desire to make the McLaren Group an even greater and even more successful powerhouse of technical innovation than it is already. The recent success and exciting potential of McLaren Automotive and McLaren Applied Technologies prove that.

"So, bearing all the above points in mind, I'm pleased to say that McLaren Racing will have a larger operational budget available to it in 2014 than it's had in any previous season in McLaren's history. We're in good shape."

He'll make MW one with the car and a snug fitting cockpit for Button.
