Any of you guys have a Blackberry? I'm planning to commit to a Z10 this weekend before a vacation (ITS MY FIRST SMARTPHONE F YEAH) but I get a lot of mixed responses from people around me.

I checked out the Z10's features hands on since a friend has it, and I loved it. Looks good, has some good tricks in the typing department and the camera has a few good tricks which are exclusive to the Z10.

The one major drawback is the risk of BB going under, which means I would lose tech support. Though for the life of me, I've NEVER had to go to tech support for a phone (they either got too old, or 'drowned' due to my carelessness) so I don't know if it's much of a concern. Let's say they DO go under....the Z10 comes with a 24month warranty, I'm sure there will be support for the period of time?

Appreciate your feedback...since I know we have quite a few techies on this forum. I just want a phone which allows for easy use of whatsapp, looks sexy (I love the Z10's look), good pic/video taking capabilities and respectable battery life...and sponsors my fav team in F1. And the Z10 is dirt cheap thanks to BB being in trouble right now. Further to that, I assume a company trying hard to stay afloat and naming this phone their possible 'saviour'will ensure better build quality compared to market leaders who would now be focused on cost cutting.

My mate had a Blackberry about a year ago he was forever complaining that some blackberry service was down so he could not do something. Not sure what service it was bit if BB goes bust what happens to the service?

He also used to complain about lack of app.

I need a smart phone too, so will be listening to all advice! Being advised against apple( as usual) but I don't use my phone that much and iPhones are SO expensive, but it would talk to my iPad. I want a big screen, able to search the net, get on here, email, twitter, what's ap, text and phone, oh and photos. I think. Really just for when my iPad isn't on a wifi.

Aren't blackberries going bust cos they chose a wrong direction? And I thought they were mainly for business?
