Sounds like Mansour is keeping his share and will be back when he gets better. Good to hear Mansour is on his way to full recovery, but it could mean nothing changing as far as getting rid of Whitmarsh

I was listening to the James Allen podcast he said that a civil war is going on at McLaren. Ron wants control but Martin has a lot of share holders on his side

I only mentioned it because (for some reason I did not put it in my first statement) Ojjeh was the deciding factor but his illness kept the battle going. Now he is pseudo back we should find out one way or other

At the risk of bringing down the wrath of the McLaren fans, I am NOT being derogatory/insulting when I ask, maybe it's the lesser of two evils?
It wouldn't be the first time anyone ever had to pick between two options they didn't like.

Ron can be awkward but if you look at their track records theres just no comparison.

Well Ojjeh and Ron don't see eye to eye anymore, so that doesn't sound good. Unless Ojjeh can see the bigger picture.

It may be unfair, but I think Ron's past is the issue. People have long memories when $100million is involved and it's too easy to forget the success he brought to the team.

Thats the card Whitmarsh has been playing ever since replacing Ron, and changing the whole team into a lame mediocre airy fairy bum chum outfit.
The owners, the Bharainis dont appear to care much for results, only the political benefits associated with owning a high profile British engineering firm.
Thats why the team resembles a media and marketing company more than a sporting concern
Also Whitmarsh's argument will be that Rons abrasive style alienated the FIA, lost Mercedes, cost 100mill and allowed a rookie to rock the establishment.

Without a change at the top, McLaren are no longer the old Bruce/Ron entity. Mercedes has basically stripped that backbone out. McLaren are like an Enstone team, change of owner, change of philosophy, new priorities. The only thing left is Ron and a trophy cabinet and classic F1 cars.

I wish they would just change the name to McDonalds and put us all out of our misery

Dumb Question of the Day: You don't think all the rule changes has had a hand in all this? I mean, Whitmarsh may be the catalyst on the inside; but, there have been a number of "outside influences" that could put the team on the back foot, if they aren't prepared, no?

By the way, I completely disagree with McLaren keeping the WDC trophies in-house!! Though it is a team effort, the deciding factor for that title is the driver and as such, the driver deserves to keep it at home!!

I guess you could say that I agree with Hamilton on that point!!

Regulation change is always when the whole team, from TP down to the engineers and designers get tested the most. Its much simpler evolving a known design. This is the second big regulation change. McLaren screwed up the first, if they screw up the second fingers would need to be pointed within the team and not without
