That's true for Sir Frank, yes, but it's not true for other teams, Ferrari in particular.

I don't want this to turn into one of our usual arguments, I actually felt sort of happy for McLaren as well this season, they overcame a lot, it felt like they were racing the FIA as well as Ferrari.

I've no reason to start a row as well. All I'm saying is that Ferrari believe the constructors' title has less prestige and they'd rather win the drivers' title. Personally, I think Ferrari's views are wrong and that constructors' championship is the best indication as to how a team fared.

Just to remind everyone, WERE NUMBER ONE :thumbup::hehe:

Not really. Lewis is No. 1. with his driver's championship. But as soon as you start saying "we", then you're talking about teams. And Ferrari won the team (aka constructor's) championship.

So, WE'RE NUMBER ONE :thumbup::hehe:

If he was number one, then they are number one but not if they cannot be number one if their driver is only number two to the number one, who is then in theory number one, so nobody else can be number one but other people are number one so that means there cannot be a number one, only a number one in each team and a number one team. One Pablo Montoya was never a number Juan.

Yes he was! He was my number Juan!!

OH Juan was a Juan off.
Classic. Have you seen the Juan? Juan? One? press conference video .

Yes. Love all vids of him! what a character!

Fantastic he was. Love to see him back.

There is SO MUCH B/S written and spoken about Lewis yet everytime I hear or see him, which is quite limited I must add, I see nothing more than a true gentleman and a person/driver who clearly has realized a lifelong dream. Seriously I find it very hard to have a negative opinion about him, to me personaly he has rejuvenated something in me that has layed dorment since '94.

Ferrari used to say the constructors' title was the runner's-up prize...

it still is :wink:

A championship win is a championship win. Both titles are important. To win both in a single year is the ultimate. This year wasn't the case so it shows just how close both Ferrari and McLaren were. I guess it is fair to say that Ferrari won something (the constructors championship) and McLaren won something else, the drivers championship. In all fairness, had it not rained Lewis Hamilton would of finished 4th as no one would of pitted and thus the Toyotas would of remained were they were. Had the Toyotas pitted like all the other front runners, then Lewis Hamilton would of still finished 4th or actually 5th as Vettel passed him. But Lewis Hamilton's 5th place would of been of ease had the Toyotas pitted. Also had Lewis Hamilton required to finish higher in the standings to win the title, I believe he would of at least been capable of 2nd or 3rd place in that race. He wouldn't of beaten Felipe Massa but had he required to finish at least 2nd I would say he would of went harder and gotten it. So basically Lewis Hamilton was taking it easy anyway in the Brazilian GP so his overall championship victory was no fluke. So congratulations to Lewis Hamilton for winning the 2008 drivers title and congratulations to Ferrari for winning the constructors title.

By the way the last few times I remember where a different team won the drivers title to the constructors title was 1999. Mika Hakkinnen won the WDC for McLaren and Ferrari won the WCC. 1994 where Michael Schumacher won the WDC for Benetton-Ford and Williams-Renault won the WCC. 1986, Alain Prost wins WDC for McLaren-TAG Porsche (Btw I like that McLaren because it was powered by Porsche) and WCC won by Williams-Honda. 1982 and 1983 Ferrari won the WCC and the drivers (Oh! I can't remember off hand) I think Nelson Piquet won one of them. Can't remember the other driver. Also the cars were I think that won, a Brabham-BMW and the other a Brabham-Ford? I cant remember. I could look it up but right now can't be bothered. Anyone is welcomed to just correct me I guess. :wink:
