ROC should be taken with a grain of salt.

Individual results should, but Petrov was uncompetitive throughout :(

I want to see how he shapes up to Raikkonen next year, it will make for an easier gauge of Kimi's performance. Grosjean is still an unknown quantity.

Have Lotus and Kubica quietly parted ways now?

It all points to Kubica being Ferrari bound 2013.

Poor Petrov :( I like him.

So do I. Trouble is, I find I'm a fan of all of the drivers on Lotus' books. Too many for just two seats though. :(

Back to driver line-ups, it looks like Lotus/Renault may well be going for Grojean if reports are to be believed. Bad move I reckon. Petrov is far better and Grosjean hardly impressed when he took over from Piquet Jr - if anything he was worse!

Grosjean likely to be Raikkonen’s teammate

Grosjean looked considerably quicker than Petrov at the Race of Champions. There is an element of 'anyone can beat anyone' about the event, but he still looked head and shoulders above.

ROC champions is not F1 so to say that Grosjean looked considerably quicker is meaningless. Stick them both in an F1 car then and only then you'll know who is quicker.

I know, they all have redeeming features. Its so tricky. But Petrov and Senna redeem themselves more to me. Kimi......it will be interesting to see how he comes back, entertainment guaranteed there one way or another. Petrov Ive grown to really like. Senna(sigh) but its not just the name, i dont think he's had a proper chance yet with all the silly rules and gizmo's. Who's the other one? Buemi?? No its Grosjohn. You see I had to look back to check him, so he doesnt quite do it for me, and I dont kbnow why  So for me Kimi and Petrov, or Senna, or Petrov, or Senna ........

I don't think Grosjean had a proper chance either. He didn't have much time in the Renault back in '09, after they fired Piquet Jr...

Agreed

Can't be meaningless. There's a considerable transfer of skills from F1 to any form of track racing - but its extent is difficult to judge as an onlooker.

It all points to Kubica being Ferrari bound 2013.

Surely not without a few hundred laps around Maranello this season? Might be a totally different driver when he returns.

So Button got knocked out by Kristensen, should McLaren rush out and replace Button with him?

Some of these guys have been in open wheelers ever since they stepped up from Karting. Making them jump in a buggy or a rally car is a big difference from an open wheeler. Some F1 drivers might adapt better than other F1 drivers and be faster but that doesn't mean back in an F1 car this would be also the case.

When I watched it in Paris it was at the Stadt de France. So they were racing on a figure of eight on a football field. It was a great spectacle but no way a test of drivers.

I disagree with you lot in there - I would ditch Petrov and Senna and give Grosjean the seat. Petrov showed some promise at times this year, but he's not nearly fast enough for his lack of consistency, and Senna is obviously not F1 material, that wouldn't even be discussed if he had a different last name.

Well handy it's official, Grosjean and Raikkonen team mates at the new Lotus.

Renault has made a mess of a partnership. How do you gauge both of them? If Raikkonen trashes Grosjean, it still doesn't mean Raikkonen is doing superb...maybe Grosjean is just crap. They're both untested. Raikkonen is under no pressure now..its his dream comeback. Just drive for f***, he's got all the excuses in the world...sh*t car and sh*t teammate.

Should have kept Petrov> I guess Id have to give him the nod over Senna because of his greater experience with Kimi being in the other car.

Im not saying Grosjean wont be any good....he's just never grabbed my aatention whilst Petrov and Senna have. And now like Hammer says there'e no benchmark for Kimi.
