Buds saying movable aero and a flexing wing is illegal. Therefore Mclarens wing and Ferraris too should be banned, they flex.

You and Nish claiming no one here can have their say because they are not experts yet you both throw in your own 2 cents. Sorry but thats just plain old hypocritical of you both!
McLaren and Ferrari wings flex so are illegal? WRONG! This has been discussed over and over again but you obviously missed the explanations given.
The wings of every other team behave on track as they would in the flexing test. They Flex to the allowed amount. Redbull passes this test but the test doesn't allow for the nose to be attached to the car during the test. As pointed out by Spanky.

Where did i say nobody can have their say? Neither did Nish, i remember you calling my opinion wrong on this same subject. And im a hypocrite?

Infact, this is the last post youll get from me, cause i really dont like you or your attitude at all.

The FIA are not kids, they know what theyre doing.

Really?? Cant agree with that on past behaviour.

Like what? Arguing amongst themselves endlesslty and never agreeing to disagree. Nope, thats reserved for us.

Forming opinionsand decisions based on what evidence their is rather then their personal blinded obsession with their favouriet team/driver. Nope, thats reserved for us.

Maybe the FIA arent as good as i make out, but internet forums with internet warriors, are nowhere near a standard to take over  This forum can hardly control itself let alone the sport.

Spanky, you got any pics or info on how they do the test for bodywork flexibility 3.17.1 ?

He already posted it a few pages ago.

Well these photos show the wing very close to the ground but not beneath the reference plane.

Image

Some pics such as this one are worthless as reference as there is not way to tell the speed/loads at that given point in time.

I think what you meant to say was, "some" forum members... can hardly control themselves let alone the sport. :wavey:

But then the forum dons cant control the few forum members that cant control themselves.... Its off topic anyway, im just saying these claims and actions that suggest "we" know twice as better as the FIA is as rich as chocolate cake.

We've got acess to the same rulebook. I'm not suggesting that I know better. The wing IS legal because it passed the current tests.

But unless there are complaints from other teams, and those complaints are documented with visible evidence, nothing will change. So Ferrari and McLaren for whatever their reasons have either two options... get the FiA to revisit the rules based on the available proof of flexing... or go copy the desing themselves.

Perhaps they're having a problem copying the desing... but the same insistence that you have that Red Bull is legal and have followed the rules, can be applied to Ferrari and McLaren that they're also following the rules by protesting another teams design. That's how the rules evolve and are changed to close an existing loophole.

I don't see anything other than the pics for the wing test.

There's a logic being applied by so many people here that implies if your car doesn't fail a test it's legal. I wonder if Peter Sauber agrees with that.

Anyway to those that follow that logic, perhaps Ferrari should stick a turbo in the dump valve cause theres no test for that and therefore we won't fail a test and ipso facto our car is legal. :D

I'm getting quite sick of being told what we can and can't discuss. It's a Forum. We can discuss whatever aspect of Formula One we want. If you don't think it's a relevant or informed discussion, you're quite free to not read it. There is no need whatsoever to have a go at people for debating the hot topic in the sport at the moment.

If it passes the test, until it fails one, its treated as legal.

It's sad that you do not see how selfcontradictory that statement it.

Nobody (at least im not) is saying that. You can discuss the wing as much as you like. But when theres a collective mouthing off about how stupid the FIA are to not spot it............That aint gravy. Im pretty, pretty sure they know whats going on. But if they passed the test, what should they do, declare a dictatorship-style emergency rule and ban everything on how it looks? It doesnt matter how much the wing flexes in pictures or videos or comparisons to Mclarens (which also flexes) What matters, is that when push comes to shove and the wings legaity is TESTED, the only fair way of determining its legality, they passed as LEGAL. Should be end of story in that respect. What should be debated is the inadequacy of the tests. Which has been mentioned like once, the rest is just bear-baiting of the FIA.
