The Merc team remain humble

"We are very aware that Ferrari and the Renault teams will come back. It is only a matter of time and I don't doubt that for a second."

I think Ferrari might even come back to provide competition just before Renault

I'm hoping for a season akin to this one with an ending akin to this one....only difference being both drivers in the battle wearing silver/teal. :thumbup:

I just love the ending of this video, probably my most watched vid on youtube. :cloud9:

I did not know this.....

Martin Whitmarsh has not been back to McLaren since Ron Dennis engineering the coup that replaced him. A return to F1 is possible - and if he wants to stay relevant he'll have to be back soon. But the problem for him is that after being team boss of McLaren, there's only Mercedes and Ferrari left. Anything else is a step down. He's already turned Mercedes down - they went for him before Paddy Lowe. And I can't see him at Maranello.

I don't see how there's truth in that when Wolff was the one who instigated the board to move for Paddy (his buddy) while Brawn was still in charge. When would Whitmarsh fit in the picture? Before Wolff was hired? Doesn't make sense.

He has a long standing relationship with Mercedes as he was point when they were shareholders etc. It makes sense that they might have offered him a position

as a PR spokesman or tea lady

obviously Paddy is an engineer and he isnt so it wasnt the same role as Paddy

Anyway I am sure Benson is just trying to help his current employability by suggesting he is in great demand. I do not think we will be hearing anything more from the loser TP

Its the same as we when we heard Button was in high demand from all the top teams when he hadnt signed hi contract extension.

anyway the guy is free now, surely Merc would snap him up before losing such a talent to another team :rofl:

Stefano Domenicali admits that Mercedes and Williams appear to be in a better position than Ferrari ahead of the start of the season in two weeks.

Mercedes and Williams not only topped the mileage count over the three tests, but they also set the two fastest times over the two tests in Bahrain. Ferrari completed roughly 1,000km less than the two Mercedes-powered teams and Fernando Alonso's best lap time in Bahrain was over a second off Felipe Massa's benchmark.

"At the end of this session we have done around 4,000km, Mercedes has done close to 5,000km - or 4,900km or something like that - and Williams was more or less close to that," Domenicali said. "That means that at the end of the day they have prepared better for the start of the season - that is a fact.

"We know that we have some big competitors in front of us, but we are here for that. In such an environment where the new powertrain is introduced, we have seen Mercedes acting very well so far. But they are a monster and we are smaller, and we want to show that even if we are smaller we can do a fantastic job."
:whip::whip:

I am not sure Monte is gonna like that as he was the one dissing RBRs aero and saying the formula should be about engines and Ferrari's strength was engines
