It was great to see Webber finally get a win but I was pleased to see Rosberg up there in the points too and a little disappointed for Barrichello. The BBC Forum after the race was quite interesting, Rosberg certainly has a few options for 2010 juging by what he an Frank Williams were saying.

I missed the forum, what did they say?

oh you know...

EJ: Blahh blah kers
DC: I don't agree

*fight*

:hehe: Goes without saying!! But what of Rosberg and Williams?

edit: i don't think this warrants a whole new thread, and this seems like the most appropriate place to post this:

Alonso upbeat about Renault's potential

By Jonathan Noble Sunday, July 12th 2009, 16:57 GMT

Fernando Alonso says he is looking forward to the second half of the season with renewed optimism after reckoning he had a car quick enough for a podium finish in the German Grand Prix.

Although a mistake in qualifying left the Renault driver languishing in 12th spot on the grid, the Spaniard managed to haul himself up to seventh place by the finish - setting the fastest lap of the race in his closing stint.

Speaking after the race, Alonso was encouraged by what he had seen – although well aware that his prospects for the race had been hurt by starting so far down the field.

"It is definitely a step forward," said the Spaniard. "I'm quite happy with the race but there is a little bit of frustration because two points is not enough for us.

"It doesn't make a lot of difference but we had the potential today to be maybe on the podium because we have been quicker than the Ferraris all weekend and Felipe is third. So I am quite optimistic and confident for the coming races."

Alonso believes a host of upgrades to the car introduced at the Nurburgring, including a new front wing, engine cover and modified floor, helped lift the performance of the team.

"Definitely we improved the car," said Alonso. "Sometimes you make some steps in the car and you cannot really feel it and the positions remain more or less the same, but it seems this weekend the parts we put on really work and finally we did a step forward."

Alonso believes that the team must deliver more performance in qualifying especially, well aware of how difficult it can be to get past cars in the race.

"We need to concentrate on Saturday, to be in the top five, top six in qualifying and then after that I think the race pace is good enough to keep those positions," he said.

"If we are qualifying 10th, we are out of position in the race because we are quicker than the cars in front of us but we have traffic. Hopefully in Budapest we can improve Saturday."

Oh well! :hehe:

Rosberg admitted that Williams weren't the only option for 2010, Williams commented on the Barrichello incident and disagreed with Eddie when Jordan suggested he should be sacked. Then Williams spoke about the new updates etc.

Ant Davidson was there instead of Brundle, he was quite cool, said he deff racing next season... even if it's not F1

More Le Mans, you think?

What do you reckon are Nico's options? I'd take a guess at McLaren and BMW Sauber being two of them.

Yeah Le Mans is certainly something he said he'll go back to, personally I think he could be in the Brawn next season or the Manor. So we'll keep our fingers crossed... well ok maybe not, forgetting about Rubens.

Erm as for Rosberg, i'd expect those 2 teams to be the other two.

Who should be sacked now? Rubens? You just can't write the stuff Eddie comes out with

I'd guess the same, McLaren being more likely for me - anything else would be a huge surprise. If i had to put money on it, i'd say he'll probably end up staying at Williams though.

This is how bad it was.
EJ: " I know your a hard man Frank what would you do if Rubens was your driver?"
FW: "Well I realise he's just driven a race and he'll be frustrated, but i'd just give him as david says a wee word"
EJ: "but i've sat in team principal meetings before with the likes of you Frank and you make tough decisions, wouldn't you sack him? I think Brawn should."
JH: Would you Eddie?"
EJ: "WEll I probably wouldn't because he was my driver for four years"

I mean WTF?

...but quite funny. I despair whenever he opens his mouth but I usually have a laugh at his expence too :hehe: Although that particular comment of his left me a bit flabbergasted.
