I've been waiting all day to get home from work for this, so without getting too carried away...

:sickman::sickman::sickman:

DO THE NICO!!!!!!!

(sorry Han... couldn't resist... ;) )

When I checked the times this morning it certainly woke me up!! I've seen Nico topping time sheets on practice before, but not 2 sessions in a row! Even better Nico sounds like he really loves the FW31 and it has exceeded his expectations and he has revealed they were carrying a fair bit of fuel too! I really really do believe Nico could be a contender for pole position tomorrow and Nakajima should find it a doddle getting the car into the top 6 at least.

I think it's going to be a great fight between Williams, Brawn and Toyota, and even better all ahead of Ferrari. But I still cautiously think BMW and Ferrari are yet to show their hand, but they have been struggling today with Kubica complaining the car is undriveable and Kimi going off etc.

As for McLaren... well what can I say? Lewis is going to be battling with Alonso this year, albeit down in 12th position. It's dissapointing to see McLaren in this state unless they have been super-sandbagging, I for one was looking forward to seeing Williams and McLaren battles once again.

And it totally didn't surprise me to see the bottom of the timesheets propped up by Piquet and Buemi. :rofl:

Yeah, but this track should suit their car... :hehe:

Hopefully we won't hear Nico mention that unless it's Monaco where recent Williams cars have always gone the fastest there. I think they'll be quick on any circuit this year, the big test will be when we come to Catalunya-wn which is not a circuit that Williams have done well at over the years...

I've just seen the New BBC intro.. I don't really care about the vid, but its in the theme of the BBC's F1 logo and a bunch of cars on screen. I was more interested in the Chain.

I think they'll do fine there - their performance in testing wasn't terrible. They weren't topping the sheets, but they weren't dead last, either.

Also, anybody watch practice this morning? I watched FP2 and it was okay - I was surprised to hear commentary on the session! Watching FP1 now and it's much better - Anthony Davidson could do Martin Brundle's job very well, although I would much prefer to see him driving a Formula One car. Williams next year, maybe? :)

Why the heck was Maurice Hamilton allowed back behind the mic for P2?
His commentary rarely spoke of the action on track :wink:

As much as it would appear that Brawn, Williams and Toyota look very very strong, I wouldn't count out the likes of Ferrari. Although Massa looks ragged, Kimi looked quite strong. We'll probably see more of the true pace of the teams in P3 (Saturday). I see some F1 Journalists are already making predictions, I'm not - and I wouldn't count out Mclaren for points.

I'd say that Williams and Brawn will be fighting for the podium spots, with Toyota and Ferrari fighting for the remaining positions. Of course, that's without failures and mistakes, which there are guaranteed to be. I already said, it's a Piquet win >.>

Edit: Also, lovely to see that they're using a Williams in the title sequence :)

Who else thought that Croft & Davidson's commentary was really good today? I thought it was absolutely brilliant if I'm being honest.

I found Croft rather annoying. Some of the remarks he made were rather facile. Davidson could be a good commentator, but he needs to stop talking so much gibberish; his comments could be made in half the number of words. Also, who was the pit reporter they were talking to? Her Formula One knowledge was non-existent. Generally, the commentary came across as being geared towards people who had never watched Formula One before in their lives.

:yes::yes:
They were going on about how they "will get a fact right today"

What did I say in my post last week? They are dumbing it down!
I've just watched an F1 preview on the BBC news channel and it was pathetic! - This better not have set the trend for the actual TV coverage

You have to remember that this isn't exactly intended as a race-style commentary - it's just something to make it a little less boring. Watching the cars go round with nobody talking about it is terribly boring. I liked the fact that it was more a chat session than a commentary session. It was relaxing to watch :)
