How many years of it did you have to do? It was compulsory for first and second years and that was definitely too much.

All these European guys coming in having done it all before in their IB. It really isn't fair.

We had a small project in 2nd year and then a significantly larger one in 3rd year. It destroyed my module mark. I wanted to do physics, not blumin' programming

It was a case of twisting some computing student's arm hard enough to get him to do the project for you. Thank goodness they started offering Visual Basic out for free to students.

Still it's over now, and that's one life skill I don't feel the urge to use again

Argh, don't mention computing. Please. That is one out of place topic in a physics degree.

I have a Masters in the stuff. I didn't really enjoy it the first time round so I have no idea what motivated me to do *even more* of the stuff!

It's the handiest tool you can have. Automation makes for such great efficiency. Do you use Symantec Ghost at all?

I remember foolishly deciding to take Computing in my final year of 6th form as an AS Level, I found Visual Basic a nightmare and got a U.

Mind you I practically gave up on my University hopes about halfway through the year.

Oh. Then I have absolutely no idea how long it takes you to copy an image to disk and go about naming the computer, joining it to the domain etc. >.<

I've just started my Motorsport Engineering degree at Oxford Brookes uni - all my flatmates are sound as hell, and as for my career prospects; well, when you have a Williams F1 car sat in the reception of your uni building, all is pretty good eh?! Aside from a couple of money troubles (which can easily be solved with a part time job, hopefully) everything is going pretty bloody brilliant for me right now. Makes a change from the last year or two!
