Lewis made him look the fool and Mclaren had their worst season in 30 years after he left, and Hamilton is now the winningest British driver of all time with two world championships to his name. No, Ron is not butthurt in the slightest. :hehe:

Bring on 2015!

...Imo Lewis having being favoured by McLaren in 2007 will take some of the shine off of his great debut in the history books and it puts Alonso's diminished performance that year into perspective. The question will be asked, "Did Hamilton beat Alonso in 2007?" Perhaps the best way to answer that question is to say, "Yes Hamilton and McLaren beat Alonso in 2007."

I've said basically the same thing since the beginning.
Even before Alonso came to Ferrari.

And, I still don't believe we've heard exactly what was
going on behind closed doors; but, the little bits and
pieces are definitely building a different sort of puzzle.

We should feel sorry for Alonso then, being out maneuvered on and off the track by a rookie. Forcing Alonso's to blackmail (isn't that a felony?) his team.

The lovefest between Ron and Alonso has begun anew and I'm sure he'll produce better results for McHonda than what he was able to produce riding a lame horse for the least few years.

Congratulations to Ron for a good score, albeit a bit pricey.

Lewis wasn't favoured in 2007, Not until after Alonso tried to blackmail Ron. What Alonso wanted was number one status and Ron wasn't prepared to give it. Without it Alonso wasn't able to take on a rookie  I'm sure I just said that a while back?

Whatever the Fonz fans want to believe, the clear winner is evident. The guy on the verge to cruise to his 3rd title after winning Championships in 2 different teams, starting a new in a new team to bring them glory. Not the guy who's a failed experiment in the most overhyped team in F1, and now hoping and praying the losers who built a car with bunny ears back in 2008 can actually take it to the Monsters in 2015.

Firstly Alonso didn't call it in Dennis did and if he had how is telling the truth a felony? Alonso was playing hardball and it was Dennis who blinked.

It was blackmail since he decided to whine when things weren't going his way. Otherwise, everything McLaren did was perfect....stealing documents or not. And anyway, why is it stealing when the documents are GIVEN over by an official employee? But that's a different debate.

Fact is the Fonz decided to squeal when he found out he wasn't good enough on equal terms with the rookie. This cannot be contested.

Yes and the fact that to this point Hamilton has not made a statement defending himself from Dennis putting responsibility on him for the 2007 mess backs up your observation that there is more to this story. Hamilton perhaps knows that any defense will result in Dennis allowing more embarrassing pieces of the puzzle out.

There is plenty of speculation online; but, no proof that Alonso is guilty of blackmailing.
However, there is $100 Million worth of evidence that McLaren was guilty of stealing Ferrari data.

It would seem that most of the speculation comes from people who don't like Alonso because he
was Hamilton's nemesis at McLaren. Understandable, since the fairy tale didn't have a happily
ever after ending to his debut season.

You really think Lewis is the tiniest bit interested in the games currently being played out at McLaren?
lewis was a naive rookie in 2007, and he humbled a double world champion. Since then he's moved on, not quite so naive, but certainly not interested in the silly games some like to play.
And the only reason Ron is saying things now is to try to make his driver feel better. How long has he waited? Seven years? And he chooses when Alonso resigns for Mclaren. Too funny!

Probably figured it was better to let sleeping dogs lie.
That or Alonso wasn't the only one with a gag order!!

I like Alonso, I like Alonso a lot, certainly even more now that he's ditched the team that saddled him with a lame horse for years, but why wouldn't Alonso have presented media outlets like the BBC with a massive slander lawsuit for reporting he'd attempted to blackmail his team?

So why now? Why wake the sleeping dogs up now? And what is it you're suggesting Lewis did as a rookie at Mclaren? Other than beat Alonso?

Now we know how and why it was done. Just reread Montoya's quote from 2007, Montoya: "Ron paid his whole career, so Ron wants him to win and not Fernando. Hamilton was Dennis's baby." And this quote was made long before the infamous "basically we we're racing Alonso" quote.

And yes Lewis came in and played the innocent naive role and every one loved him but that all was ripped away in Monaco when he made the "I am the No.2 driver" statement when Alonso beat him contrary to what he thought was owed to him as 'the chosen one'! He was never the 'innocent naive rookie', it was just a facade.

Yes imo Lewis will be very sensitive to his only claim to being better than/equal to Alonso being degraded.

It didn't help that Lewis made it very clear that his championship win with Mercedes was much sweeter than his first championship with McLaren. It was "the greatest day of his life" and "the feeling I have now is way, way past that (2008) and above and beyond."

Dennis would have taken that as a personal insult after all he did creating a career for Hamilton which could have triggered his clearing the air.
