Hamilton seems pretty pessimistic about the next race also.

Brilliant. I'll be there... :crying:

Button is just as pessimistic but they have a point. McLaren need to pull their fingers out if they want to compete with RedBull over the next couple of years.

I still say that their will be serious movement between teams for next season.

Well i just watched the highlight show on BBC3 and WOW im glad i couldnt watch today's race...it looked like a right bore....from the looks of things im never gonna like the Valencia Circuit *yawns* such a predictable race...

But maybe it hurt seeing Mclaren not doing well...and Vettel carrying on dominating and moving further ahead for the WDC.....and from the sounds of things Mclaren aint gonna improve for the next race...meh :(

There's now three victories between the championship leader and the driver in second place. If the regulation changes don't hurt Red Bull proportionally more than the other teams, I think the championship will be over by Suzuka.

At this rate, we might see the 2011 champion cross the finish line already in Monza :yikes:

They might as well just crown SV the champion and for the rest of the season allow all the other drivers to have a go in the RB7. THAT may actually be more exciting.

I wouldn't mind - it would make it so much more peaceful on here

That would provide RB an unfair advantage though: they could easily spot the best-suited driver to hire for next year :P

If Vettel "All of a sudden" has a couple of retirements in a row I will be very pissed off.

These mid season tweaks trying to clip Adrian Newey's wings are enough.

You realise though it may not be their silver bullet to the other teams, Newey has designed by definition an illegal car. Thats why these changes are being brought it, you should be over the moon (if it ends up hurting them at all) theyve only just acted on it for silverstone.

if Vettel has a couple of retirements you shouldnt care, hes over three wins infront of the next man, and the moment he does finish a race, itll be first again.

And with a bit of luck, it's not going to be the same driver to take those two wins and it might not even be SV's closest rival at that, so the damage may be rather limited.

Wasn't a snoozefest but yeah dull compared to the other races this year, and unlike most of them, this one had a double DRS zone.

The circuit is just too "tame" isn't it? It's not like Monaco (or even Singapore) which can be brutal in terms of punishing mistakes, there are plenty of run off areas. It doesn't really have any massively fast sections or tight corners, its all a bit meandering - there's no real test for the drivers or the car.

Good race by Alonso though, something is seriously going wrong for Webber, Alonso was never close to Vettel, but took Webber on fair pace I'd say. Just before his last pitstop, Webber got it horribly wrong entering the pitlane, his tyres were shot, even if he hadn't pitted Alonso would've got by.

Ferrari seem consistently poorer on the strategy, they lost Massa his place to Hamilton, either stay out long aiming for a 2 stop or pit quickly, not in-between. And they also seem poor with pitstops, even discounting the mistakes during the pitstop their consistently slower than redbull.

What happened to McLaren's race pace? They fell of horribly, Hamilton wasn't just behind Webber, he was way off. I guess the hotter temperatures just didn't suit them, and maybe it effected Massa as well.

The Ferrari's seem clearly the best at starts though.

man, what a depressing race. After all the hype I was hoping for increased action - not less. But as I expected, RBR hasn't been affected all that much by the change in engine mapping, and I presume the same will be true in Silverstone.

You can really feel the dejection in the McLaren guys:

Engineer: "Watch after the tires, Lewis."
Lewis: "I CAN'T GO ANY SLOWER!"
Engineer: "Pick up the pace, Lewis"
Lewis: "THIS IS AS FAST AS I CAN GO!"
