I am speechless.... I never expected that... seems like lewis had keep inside a lot of the ''bad moments'' he had with McL and at the end he ''gave them the finger''
None can predict what the future will be like and if Mercs will have strong pace in 2014... Even if McL will lose Merc engines, this is not a big deal, just take alook at what redbull has achived with a renault engine.
I agree that McL have done a lot of ''screw ups'' the last years but i can not see Merc doing any better to be honest... and after all Lewis was to blame on many cases (at least last year)... this might be the biggest mistake in Lewis carreer.
McLaren will always be better than Mercs
I 've always been a McL fan and from now on I dream for the day Lewis on Merc
will be lapped by Button

Sorry mate, but Button has struggled to lap a Merc even this year, good luck on him even keeping up with them once they find their feet. They've had the potential to win at least 2 races this year and things are only going to get a whole lot better for them come 2014.

I put my hopes on Perez right now... as for button .... thats all we have. I am not into the ''Mercs being dominate in 2014'' hype, McL will always be up there, even if they haven't won any championships in a while...

He was never a fan in the first place to react like that. It's time for Lewis to move on and build a team around him like FA has with Ferrari and Seb has with Red Bull. If anyone is delusional enough to think that Jenson Button is all of a sudden going to become a really quick driver they are delusional.Their have been times when the Mercedes should of been right up their so they really are not far away from the top.

Mercedes has the fastest most reliable engine and from next year it will be Mclaren who will have limited information or secondary information on the engine development.Now we will see what a snake Jenson Button really is,remember he has stated on numerous occasions that Mclaren have not got a number one driver in the team,let's see if that holds true now that Lewis will be gone,i don't think so some how.

Work for Martin Whitmarsh and Sam Neil, or work for Ross Brawn, Nikki Lauda and Norbert Haug, its a no brainier for me check out the track records championships race wins (inc Ferrari) before you all start moaning no loyalty etc. Ask yourself on question have you ever changed jobs? or moved to a rival company? So get off your high horses and think about it.

Mclaren really haven't done much in recent years and the only glory they have had was through Lewis,it's time to move on and become a true Legend.Ross Brawn has won just as much as Mclaren in the last ten years so it all adds up.I said Lewis would go to Mercedes months ago on this site,i was laughed at by many but it turns out i was right.

I've been a Mclaren fan for years but i've also watch Lewis throughout his career and ill be cheering him on all the way.If anything it give all us F1 fans so juicy times to look forward to starting from next year.

The F1 train keeps moving and it is drivers like Lewis, Seb and Fernando who are driving it,not the likes of Jenson Button.

I am the first one to say Lewis is currenly the fastest driver in f1, but thats not the reason I was a fan of him, but becouse he drove for McL. furthermore everything he achieved was in a McL car, What you believe he would be like in a sauber. If you believe McL hasn't achieved enough in the last years, then the Merc you cheer for above hasn't achieved anything. As much as I respect Ross Brawn, his only highlight after ferrari, was when his new team had the clear advantage of blown diffusers in their cars. and I don't expect Mercs be any faster with lewis onboard... but that will be a good opportunity to compare him with rosberg.

We will see how it develops but don't look for Perez to be Mclarens savoir because of a couple of results. Mclaren have shot themselves in the foot IMO,Jenson cannot take that team forward and Perez is not as good the press and you make out.

They cannot replace Lewis with the same caliber of driver,Perez is not in the same league.I really can wait till testing nest year,i think many of the haters and doubters are in for a surprise lol.

Okay, I may not be a Hamilton fan, I have nothing against him though. But I think we need to start believing a certain wizard named Eddie Jordan. He even predicted Hamilton would go to Mercedes and Eddie has predicted a lot of things accurately for Silly Season... O.o

to good times ahead, at Merc! I'm stoked! I think a lot of folks are going to be really surprised to find out what Lewis is really made of. I expect to see that Merc at the front end, and soon (and if not, hello RB or Ferrari, in a few years).

I wonder how this affects the 2012 championship, not in Lewis's favour I think, the team will also have to cut him out of their plans for 2013.

Gutted he's going I'm McL whoever drives for them but I'll always have a soft spot for him.

Perez and Button will be interesting. Out of all the likely contenders I'm glad he got it.
