Lewis, Haug and Brawn! :cloud9: He'll be much better off! Im excited about this. I think if Whitmarsh had been fairer it may not have happened. Schumacher sticking around as a tester and development advisor whould be no mean thing either. Well new wardrobe needed :D

Glad Lewis is moving, Rosberg is another good guy who does his talking on track and will push Lewis very hard!

Well if so Lewis will be waiting a while before he wins another championship. I don't think Mercedes are anywhere near ready but this is about Lewis the brand and not the driver.

Hope he likes it there.

Its not about the brand, all that is secondary. Its because he's been in F1 for 5 years and only has 1 championship. Its about being in a team committd to supporting him. Its about winning. Mercedes are gunning for 2014 and beyond.

I can see why he wanted to leave McLaren but I don't think an immediate move to Mercedes for 2013 is the way to go.

Another year at McLaren would of perhaps been better for him but when you look at the dollar and sponsorship deals as part of his move to Mercedes you can see commercially its great for his management team.

But he needs to move now, to give himself time to build the team around him, and get them working his way. I dont think he will be able to just walk into a winning car. Its going to be a very tough year for LH and all us 'fanboys' for the next year or two, as he will struggle to get podiums I think. But long term it has the makings of an excellent team

Lewis has his eye on the longterm future not just next year. Next year Im sure he's expecting to be difficult. But it will be a very valuable year

I wouldn't be surprised to see Merc fighting for podiums next year, something like what Ferrari was doing in the 1st half of this year and Lewis should make a significant impact. I enjoyed 2009 seeing Lewis coming through the field in every race, even if the WDC fight was a farce that year.

I agree. its not just about the win, its about extracting the max out of the car, and helping develop the team move towards a winning outfit, and being appreciated. That will be so satisfying instead of the frustrations he endured with Whitmarsh.
