GP Update Ferrari team boss Marco Mattiacci has spoken of his admiration for long-time company President Luca di Montezemolo, who officially departed his role on Monday after 23 years with the Italian manufacturer.
Having announced his decision to leave in early September, di Montezemolo oversaw a final month in charge, ending with the Russian Grand Prix, where Fernando Alonso and Kimi Räikkönen finished sixth and ninth.
Sergio Marchionne, head of the Fiat group which owns Ferrari, replaces di Montezemolo as Chairman.
"I would like to thank Luca di Montezemolo, at what has been the final Grand Prix under his Presidency at Ferrari," said Mattiacci, who became Team Principal back in April. "I think we have been fortunate to work with a great manager like him and it will be exactly the same with a successor of the calibre of Sergio Marchionne."
Di Montezemolo hailed "23 marvellous and unforgettable years" in the statement confirming his departure last month, thanking team members, partners and supporters and wishing Ferrari "many more years of success".

"I don't want to be part of a forum where everyone has differing opinions." Boom...
