I think you have a point there WB, maybe lewis didnt expect the actual result but the evidence suggests he was plotting to cut past on the inside as Nico inevitable ran wide, opening the door after arriving off that tow. To those unaquanted with actually racing experience, the claim has been that Nico had completed a pass, he was much quicker etc and just over cooked it, they never stop to think why Lewis CHOSE to stay on that side

and Nico was as blissfully unaware as a college kid knocking on the door of a crack den to ask if anyone had change for a 100$ bill :hehe:

If you look at how deep Lewis ran Nico into the corner before he went wide left to then be able to make the turn, knowing Nico's car doesn't have the turning radius to make it being that tight into corner, it was his strategy all along. Even Lewis said he knew he was at a disadvantage being in front because that run down to the turn was so long. When I viewed it live, I immediately looked at my wife and said, "Lewis set him up to make that error!" That's an old karting maneuver.
#421425
nah, Lewis couldn't do that. He's not clever remember !

Actually Lewis was asked about that manoeuvre, and whether he was mugged by Nico or planned it, and he was particularly vague in his answer. He started waffling about what he would do later in the race. :scratchchin::scratchchin: Hmmmm. If he got mugged I'd have thought he would be pretty keen to say it was all planned!

Also it stopped us from seeing if Nico would win the race so it was unfair and we don't want to see the WDC decided by unfairness - that's the latest gemstone from the Lewis stalkerz

Lol Rosbergs muttering all the cuss words he knows in Finnish/German behind all that teeth.

“Yes for sure I love it,” laughed Rosberg when asked if he was now a fan of the controversial double points rule.

Autosport have got a Butthurt October special edition, what a great photo - I think that picture is going to get a ton of royalties in the years to come. The contrast between the 2 different driver dynamic and maybe even personality and culture are captured so well, a great angle as well. If anything, it would the picture is almost too perfect, maybe using old fashioned film thats just struugling to keep up resulting in a touch of old fashioned hazy streaks or slightly blurred to really get the emotions. But great picture
And maybe the title could be a bit punchier, maybe 'red hot Hamilton smokes hapless Rosberg'

isnt good photography just great

Cookin, I might suggest that at season's end, we will be looking back at four moments in this Championship season that led to the crowning of the winner. That image represents one of them. It represents, panic, desperation, poor judgement/decision-making. Like Monaco and Spa where there was this overwhelming focus on taking away the "M" word (momentum), Russia too proved that the wrong state of mind can and will be detrimental to the desired outcome. I wouldn't be shocked if this same image is used again with the headline reading, "Title Up In Smoke." #seemsfitting

Such fun.

PS. In case you're curious, the fourth moment was at Hungary. "Why isn't he letting me pass?"

Nico has come out with this gem

"I don't look at wins and I don't care about wins, personally," said Rosberg. "I didn't even know he had eight now, or nine. It's not something I look into.

"The only thing I look at are the points, and even then I'm still trying to focus as much as possible on individual race weekends.

He doesnt keep his cerebral mind cluttered with simple arithmetic - like each time his teammate has finished the race he has had a chance to study his gearbox detailing - ok fair enough it could be, so he is putting all his considerable mental resources into focussing?? on what?? on not making bonehead mistakes? or of calculating the braking point on a fuel laden WO5 that has had a tow on one of the longest first corner approaches???

Does he actually listen to what he is saying or is all that air around his head interfering with the process??

Mind you he already told us he was in front of Lewis when he made his mistake - presumably the mistake of not been able to make the corner as a result of getting in front while Lewis was braking to make the corner???

At least Nico is not a complete bonehead with single digit IQ, as he hasnt yet claimed he had the faster setup and performed a miracle by driving cleverly to prevent any deg on his tyres when all around him were falling off the deg cliff (yet setting fastest laps on the last lap like Bottas)

Oh good grief! This is what you expect from a guy who is being whipped into submission. He thought he was the stuff up against an aging Schumacher who, to be fair, seemed to have back more for the fun than the glory. Now Nico is discovering what Button warned against earlier this year. Lewis in an F1 car is like no other Nico has been up against as a team-mate. Now that the reality is set and very clear, then he, Nico, comes out with these incredible bytes. Please!

He has known this since the karting days, and he has now thrown in the towel, mentally roughed up and now its about saving some face with sound bites.

It even seems like lewis is now able to jump out of his way and concede a place in the knowledge he will get it back a few laps down the line once Nico runs out of cheap tactics.

Lets face it we are now familiar with Nicos repertoire of cheap tactics

Lewis behind you? - cut the chicane, gain an advantage and hope the stewards figure you need a break

Lewis in front of you? - bum rush up the inside and hope for the best

Lewis in front on a different strategy? - beg the team to ask him to slow down so you can pass

and the rest

"Rosberg, though, provided the outstanding drive here. He drove 52 laps on the same set of medium tyres to take second place, more than 13sec behind Hamilton.

Hamilton, starting from his seventh pole of the season, defended his advantage by cutting across Rosberg, but the German drew level and then moved slightly ahead of his great rival. But as he did so he locked up and flat-spotted his tyres, forcing him to pit for fresh rubber on only the second lap.

When he asked about strategy he was told he would probably have to finish the race without making another stop. He not only finished it but made up 21 places, getting annoyed on separate occasions near the end, when he was expected to come in for another change. It was an astonishing performance in view of the fact that some drivers had to make two stops and others struggled to get to halfway without coming in for a change."

The media, above in an excerpt from the Guardian, is calling Rosberg's Sochi drive outstanding and astonishing. Pretty good and coming from the British media too. Maybe the drive was a miracle!

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

What do the broadsheets know about F1 you silly muppet, do you think the reporter was even there??

Why not dig out what Autosport say, or James Allen, you think the Guardian has time to explain that there was no deg at all for the top 3 drivers in the second half of the race, go away and learn the finer details of F1 before wasting my goodwill - You dont even have a clue about what deg is

But hey each to there own, have your opinion, and i agree with you on one thing Nico is faster than Lewis sometimes, he has a faster setup than Lewis sometimes, but so far it has meant sweet nada - lewis can start anywhere and beat Nico, even with a slower car - because he has a better racing intellect - defending using different lines, attach using stealth and guile - Nico doesnt have any of this, he tries the same tactics lap after lap, when defending he has to leave the track etc etc, So praise the WDC leader thumbup:
