Phenomenal drive for Liuzzi and both Saubers and Williams in the points!

Williams only 3 points behind Force India now! :) I hope they can get past them.

Look at the way he won his WDC in the first place...a car which was simply CLASS of the field, making this years Redbull look only "a pretty good car to have".

I dont know... Jenson made no mistakes in his championship season. So all he needed to make his luck happen was to bring the car home and he did. The same cannot be said about RB this yr. The RB has been CLASS of the field. The car has been dominant, the drivers simply havent been able to keep their heads straight and the keep the car alive... not that they are poor or anything. But that's what they have needed to do, and struggled to do it.

Also, Jenson had a "carefully planned" spin today in Korea... :hehe:

He doesnt have the aggressiveness of any of the top 5. And yes, he's not faster than them.
But in turn he's not made A SINGLE DRIVING MISTAKE all season. While his driving may not be enough to win this contest, had he been in the "pretty good car" RB, I think he would have already clinched.

Ah well. Doesnt matter though... everybody's different and each yr is a different challenge. It takes a good deal of combinations/ingredients to win and whoever gets all of them to do it is good enough to have it.

:bs: He didn't pull away from him, Lewis let him go. Hammy's tyres were shot to pieces and he just wanted to nurse the car home in 2nd position.

LOL
He also let him past in T1.
Perhaps whitmarsh told him "Fernando... is... faster... than.. you"
"Good job Lewis, good lad"

Although I was worried something might happen to Alonso next and didn't want Hamilton to win. I was also thinking that Hamilton might of began pressuring Alonso, although it thankfully turned out that Alonso pulled away from Hamilton

Due to Lewis' tyre being shot and he slowed down, Alonso pulled away! No inaccuracies there...

If we all saw the same race, there was a clear point when Hamilton just switched to get the car home mode. He was gaining on Alonso big chunks lap after lap, and then just decided to take a finish instead of another DNF.

He is in a better position after today for it. Nothing can be taken from Alonso's win, he drove a great race, but McLaren/Hamilton decided they couldn't afford to push the car they way they needed to push it to not just get to Alonso but then get past him. The Ferrari was simply quicker.

There was nothing wrong with the car, only tyres were going bald I think. I was watching in earnest too, Lewis was reeling in Alonso very very fast at 1 point but Alonso managed to respond everytime.

Plus, the McLaren was rubbish at restarts. You could see it lap by lap after every restart, the McLaren takes 3 or 4 laps (Jensons took the whole race) to get up to speed and I think that's what kept them out of frame for the win today.

It was a dull race, as far as overtaking for the front racers. Sutil was on a war path today thou, and made more passes than the other drivers together lol.

It's good to pass other cars, but he was reckless today.

But it sure was entertaining to watch him go like a kamikazee into the corners :-)

Just watched the race. The normal whine, whine, whine from Button and Alonso,we're only paid £10-20 million a year to race a car we can't do it in the wet "wimps".Seen F1 in loads worse conditions than that.

Credit to Alonso tho when it did start he kept his head and drove well.I just hope he doesn't win the title. Those points he got for Massa letting him past are looking vital now.Vettel very unlucky but thats F1.

The only thing Button done well today was moan(bit like me now).

What a joke F1 is becoming these days so many laps behind a safety car.Add to that a rubbish designed track that doesn't drain water.Just shows the dwarf is only worried about money and not racing.

Rant over

Whaaaarrrgarrbllllll! My DVR-recorded race stopped recording at 2:35 (of course the DVR bases its recording on the schedule sent by the channel).

I hope I can watch it during the week...I'm a sad puppy. :crying:

Congrats to Alonso for keeping his head cool and apparently driving an awesome race, and Lewis, my boy, for showing he still has what makes a champion.

So I read Sutil turned the race into a demolition derby? :hehe:

You're an F1 fan, come on, don't be afraid to go in and change the recording end time for your scheduled recording. I take NO chances when recording a race and always set it to end two hours late. That being said, I watched it live and deleted the recording without watching it. :D

Or did you not have enough space in your DVR to do the additional two hours. If you need to make room get rid of all your saved episodes of GLEE!

I have around 70% space available! I'll do that next time I don't watch a race live...Two hours should be enough. :D

i recorded it this morning, but because of the delay it switched channels, which of course sky+ didnt know to do. it cut out at lap 40! so i then had to wait til the re-run at 2pm UK time, watch the first chunk again to see the last 15 (tho they cut out all the waiting around :D )
BUT...it was well worth the wait! What a smashing day. one of the real unforgettable GP's.
OK, i think race control were a bit too dramatic. they were 100% right to delay the start (look at brazil 08!) and they are right to start behind the SC, and they were right to red flag and wait, but did we really need the SC for 17 laps!? im not sure. i think that the spray is bound to be worse when the whole pack is backed up. Once they all split up and start racing, the racing line dries out and the space between the cars lessens the spray.
Webber - awful mistake! he knew it and top marks to him for saying so!
Vettel - Unlucky!! did everything right, but i was pleased to see he was so chilled about it. a S**t happens kind of attitude.
Hamilton - good drive and i agree with a previous post, he was pushing alonso, but backed off, and you literally saw it happen. he had to his tyres were knacked, and it shows maturity and a level head on his shoulders. would the hamilton of old have done that!?
Button - lets not go there, but i thought his post race interview on the BBC was shocking. very childish. loosing time for him at the min.
drive of the day - Liuzzi. very good drive. Also think Massa did well today. It was a shame rosberg got caught up in the webber incident because i think mercades were in for good haul of points today, and schumacher proved that.
was gutted for algashuari. would have been nice to see him get a point. but new tyres on (was it heidfeld or hulkenberg!?) and him going wide cost him.
oh, and my final bit of praise - the circuit. I liked it. when the track settles and isnt surrounded by a building site it will be a firm favourite i think. but seriously today, they were some of the dirtiest F1 cars i have seen by the end!!!

overall race... :thumbup::clap:

Lotus had a 12th before, didn't they?

Mad max said Alonso didn't pull away. . . its one thing to say Lewis let him go so Alonso pulled away but pull away he did. I think that was what AKR was referring to, that Alonso wasn't under pressure than Lewis.

Alonso! Consistency, consistency that's the man. . .

Gotta feel bad for Vettel, poor man.

Oh and Rosberg, really unlucky there, great move on Hamilton.

Sutil, it's still there I see.

On the drivers talking about the conditions, its hard to tell which ones really are intimated and not happy (although at the start they all were I think) and those simply lobbying out of self interest. It seems Alonso was internally mentally up for a race, but said otherwise, whilst Lewis wasn't as confident as he suggested. Ironically he was quickly overtaken by Rosberg

Setfano's as cool as a cucumber,

That Alonso laugh should be my new ringtone.
