nish, I detect some negative turbulence from your side towards me. :D

Give me a break man, I created this thread ages ago and I don't give a damn about Vettel either way now. One of his quotes annoyed me but that was quite long ago as well. So take it easy, I can't stop others posting in this thread can I?

Haha no, nothing against you but really if i was referring to you i would have said your name because your a bit more reasonable than the person i am talking about. But im far to scared to say that persons name.

The thread can be locked if you want it to mate, just ask one of the mods. or post it on the thread.

Is the name that bad... if you say it in the mirror 3 times do they appear? If you feel bullied threaterned or harassed by another forum member, please PM a member of the Mod or Admin teams and we will do our best to sort it out.

No, no, please dont lock it. There really is no need i was just reassuring Hammer that he is not the Vettel basher i was referring to, i understand i might have come across a little more aggressively than i intended to.

The common thread of Hero vs Villain is again obvious in this thread.

Its funny, for a LONG time some fans are the type that need their hero/villain characters and follow F1 with this mindset.
Most of the other fans dont really have this hero/villain mindset and care very little to satanise drivers they dont follow or dont care about. Vettel is the next victim....

While I have some disrespect for Alonso, I do not consider him as a villain. I would love to see him win a world championship.

One thing irking me now is that it looks unlikely that anyone will complete Alonso's feat (2 world championships in a row) for sometime. Unfortunately the rules are changing every year. So will we see a driver win 5 championships in a row again?

5x No. Not possible. i dont think it will even be "allowed" ever again... hehe

It's the way of the world, that's why WWE has good guys and bad guys, most sports that appeal to the base of the brain stem work that way. For some it's not enough that you man does well, the true joy comes when you also destroy the villain.

I'm just sayin... but didn't you give a smirk of satisfaction in Hungary when Lewis broke down?

Whenever your favored driver finishes ahead of anybody, or their direct competition or your most disliked driver is good. But that is the normal result of competition.

The difference lies in how some constantly go out of their way to make X driver a villain. I dont remember any Schumacher fan making anybody out as a villain. For example, when Alonso won the wdcs against Schumacher... Schumacher fans simply weren't happy about it, but nobody made a villain out of Alonso. When Lewis beat Massa for the WDC, nobody made Lewis a villain... even diMontezemolo, the fans, Massa and so on... congratulated Lewis and went on ahead. Even in the case today with Nico Rosberg; there's lots of Schumacher fans, and nobody has said a peep about Nico. The same cannot be said about certain drivers/teams/fans, quite the contrary, he's still being satanised for doing this, doing that...

For example: Vettel is Red Bull's protege and is arrogant. I dont like him and he is the worst for these reasons. And yet, Hamilton being Mclaren's protege and being arrogant is no problem.

And the list goes on...

I agree, but it's human nature, what are you going to do? Don't let the perception of some ruin the sport for you if that's how you feel. There are plenty of people that love the sport first and the drivers/teams/tactics/philosophies second.

I absolutely love SPA, I'm partial to wood-side tracks, and this morning watching practice I wasn't cheering or vilifying anyone, just simply enjoying the scenery and grandeur that is SPA.

Yes! Spa is a great track and a beautiful place. But it seems sandy is the new trendy lately. Sand is so pretty.
