The only real surprise I had was Vettel getting pole and the rest was kinda expected but I'm not diappointed by any of the top 10 placings.

Not surprised by Kubica?

Only alittle for the simple fact that the car was not supposed to be that quick yet the true test remains to be seen and thats the overall race length pace.

Not surprised by McLarens lack of pace.

I do not see it as a lack of pace only teething problems such as with Mercedes GP. The true pace amongst the top 10 will only be realized imo after the 3rd or 4th race.

I think the ugly and ridiculous new sector 2 has something to do with such a large spread. Some teams will also have probably compromised their cars to perform better in the race tomorrow. I expect the Saubers of Kobayashi and Peter Pink Woolen to go "ON A CHARGE!!!!" when the front runners start to kill their tyres.
I agree, sector 2 is nothing but bull-crap. Everyone have their car jumping in turn 6 and it's just pointless...

agreed. The sector would have been fine, even good if it would have been smooth. I can imagine it sweeping very well, but the construction was straight-up Horrible!

Bahrain should be ashamed, and do something to smooth it out for next season..

funny though . The ferrari and redbull cars appear to manage those turns a lot better but at least ivey can blame that stretch of the track for mclarens poor performance.

They showed us the replay and EVERY SINGLE car bumped massively through these corners, ferrari and redbull didn't just jump so significantly

So what the heck was it I said?? Just that !!

Lol i understood that you told that sector 2 was a stupid excuse for me. My Bad

Just looking through the times. Lewis and Massa were the only two drivers to actually improve their Q3 time over their Q2 times. Impressive from both sides.

The grip level deffinetly dropped during Q3 today with the rising tempertures. So whilst everyone struggled to find grip, fanastic to see two drivers still able to overcome the conditions and pull out something special. Hamilton and Massa stars of quali today

:yes::thumbup:

The start was Vettel! look where Webber is. And look at Vettel's blistering lap, that was a sharpshot. This guy can come up with a super lap on demand. Last yr he was saving engine and didnt really pratice... yet, come Q and Boom. He did the same today.

Lewis was very good... not a revelation like Vettel, but i guess there's not much surprise Lewis can nail a good Q, The race should be a different story. So, maybe equally a 'star' as Kubica today.

Massa was good too (and of course, given he's making his comeback definitely great), but Fernando was very close and made mistakes... so basically the Ferrari is a good car. And both Ferrari drivers are up to it.

Definitely enjoyed the podium... can't complain, except for the order :D
But yeah... Vettel was amazing.

Hey... Force India did good!
Kubica too... but seems like the Force India is going to be lingering the points and have a solid car to start the season (i think Alonso mentioned it a while back). Not bad, not bad.

Ferrari is changing both engines due a minor anomality.

I'm not keen on all the rules so will the changes negatively effect them?

Only 1hr 8mins to go before my coverage starts woohooo!!!

Anyone feel brave enough to offer predictions?

I hope Vettle's pace doesn't translate into race pace otherwise he'll fly off into the distance.

Hope Sutil brings in some points and doesn't cause another incident.

Hope Chandock finishes the race.

Theres good battles through the midfield I think.

no penalty but its not good at all.

One engine, fine bit worrying but it happens. But 2 engines that haven't done a race distance having issues.

Worring.

Keep an eye on the sauber to see if they have engine problems otherwise might be a cooling issue with the SF.

Williams had to revert back to their Barcelona package yesterday due to issues with the cooling upgrades they brought which caused massive snap oversteer. So that's something to think about too...

Whatever happens in the race, whoever wins or charges through the field and gains the most places , at the end of the day if either Senna or Chandhok make it to the finish they will be my driver(s) of the day.

As for me no because I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy the return of F1 and be thankful I'm still here to enjoy it :) .
