What the hell sort of driving was that from Hamilton today? He was a complete shambles. I thought McLaren had employed a racing driver, not a clown. He should be dismissed from the team with immediate effect.

Dude, your friggin' crazy!

Another clown who's not read the whole topic before replying.

But hes just come out and said "i'm happy where i am" and "i have a 5 year contract with the team"

Stop the hate man get behind your teams driver.

I'll keep quiet about Hamilton when I'm confident his whingeing and antics will stop.

jeez man how's he whined he said the team are doing a good job and thanked the team and then said we still have further to go and have to keep pushing.

he's being honest and relalistic.

I mean i could understand if he had said "this car was s***, the guys are the factory arn't trying hard enough give me more downforce or i'm leaving"

but hes not.

Oh no he to afraid to. most the guys in the garage and the factory is pissed off with him for over davey. He knows they can lose more races for him and probably will make sure it happens. he should have thought this crap throught before doing what he did. not ???

WTF are you smoking? You obviously don't know what McLaren is about! McLaren is all about winning as a team they are a very strong team who work together well. This buisness about his mechanics is :bs: that the Daily Garbage decided to print and it has no basis. The idea that his mechanics would be resent or be angry with Lewis is highly unlikely and the idea that they would purposely under perform so Lewis will loose is unthinkable. They would never do it even if he said he hated them all and that he was going to leave which he has not. McLaren Win as a team and loose as a team and all they care about is winning!

keep a copy of this response... its gonna come back and bite you in the very near future !!!!

I tell you with absolute certainty that the team will work 100% with Lewis no matter what! Just as they carried on helping Alonso 100% after he blackmailed Ron Denis.

[EDIT] McLaren Exist to win

Futhermore Martin's just come out and said its rubbish.

I think if it was true he wouldn't deny it he would just avoid it.

The fact of the matter is Lewis and Mclaren duck up and The papers have Button as there new F1 golden boy.

So they can Big Up button since he's doing well and kick the f*** out of Hamilton when hes not so they can sell papers.

If they hadn't of lied they would fine some other angle to get at him.

You can't necessarily trust what Whitmarsh says. If there was any dissent in the team, of course he's going to deny it. All we can do is fill in the gaps in the narrative as plausibly as possible. For instance, Ryan was a popular figure in McLaren, so of course people are going to be annoyed he's gone, especially the mechanics. We don't need the Daily Mail to tell us that, so we can say that's true. In terms of their claim about Hamilton being unpopular, it is plausible, but is it true? Given the Mail's track record, and that the piece is basically slipped in as a footnote to the article, you'd have to say maybe not. What about Hamilton's considering leaving the team? Well, we know Hamilton had tried to leave McLaren before (the exact reasons why are irrelevant in this case), and we know Hamilton has disobeyed McLaren in the past, too; so we can reliably say Hamilton is not as loyal to McLaren as he and others would have us believe. The current stories about Hamilton's position are in The Times, which is a pretty credible source, and they seem very assured they've got the truth. They've covered the matter in some detail (it's not a footnote slipped in somewhere), continue to talk about it, use it as a base for talking about related matters, and, from the way they're discussing it, seem to have been in contact with somebody who is genuinely in the know. Therefore, we can say with a fair amount of certainty that Hamilton, at the very least, was looking a way out of McLaren. Why people are tying to deny this, I really don't know. Tolstoy Syndrome, perhaps. And nor I am being a bad McLaren supporter, as has been hinted at. Quite the opposite. I'm concerned about what's happening at the team, and I'm annoyed at the insubordination, selfishness and ungratefulness some of its members have recently shown.

Seperate article:

MCLAREN MECHANICS FURIOUS WITH HAMILTON'
Sunday 19th April 2009

Life at McLaren is not all smooth sailing for Lewis Hamilton with reports coming from China claiming that his McLaren mechanics are furious with the Brit.

According to reports in the British media, Hamilton is being given the cold shoulder by many of his mechanics, who feel that he has let them down in the wake of the liargate scandal by pointing the finger at now-sacked sporting director Dave Ryan.

The Daily Mail claims that 'Several of the mechanics at McLaren, the Surrey-based team whose golden boy he has been since falling under their wing as a sensational 13-year-old karter, have deserted him - for deserting them. The rank and file here are still furious that Dave Ryan, an employee for 35 years, was sacked for his role in the cheating scandal.

'Ryan was undoubtedly culpable as the only McLaren man other than Hamilton to enter the stewards' room to spin the deceit. But the fact that the multimillionaire sought to shift the majority of the blame on to the sporting director hastened his departure.'

"They have all known Davey for many, many years and are upset he became the fall guy," a McLaren team insider said.

But Hamilton's transgressions in the eyes of the McLaren personnel didn't stop there as there has also been rumours that the reigning World Champion wants to leave the team.

"Then there was the talk of Lewis threatening to quit the team," the insider continued. "That did not go down well because we feel he should have shown more support after the work we've done for him. The guys put all the hours in and don't get anywhere near the rewards he does."

They may not be on the best of terms with Lewis but they would never purposely under perform because of it like Tony suggested. They are in a professional sport and need to be professional McLaren want to win and all the team members will do their best to win, personal opinions shouldn't come into it everyone has to work with people they don't like every now and again.

He didn't drive very well yesterday but the car has very little downforce so it was never going to stick the road as much the MP4-23. You can't tell a driver to get out after one performance where he still got points haave a little sense please

I'd have thought the stiff suspension set-up would have been more of an issue than downforce, actually. He had at least two new aero parts on the car.
