Weather forecast shows thunderstorms from 2pm onwards. Wet qualifying, anyone?

:censored: working on a saturday should be illegal!

Do i go and pick up my stuff, come back for the quali at 10am then do my round after, or last until 1pm without listening to the radio and watch the red button repeat? Can't miss a wet quali session... :scratchchin:

COME ON LEWIS!!!!

Yes. Spend your time lagging at the back of the field with no rear downforce. Awesome stuff.

:P

I fear for McLaren and Force India if it rains. Their cars both have downforce issues :/

Yeah but one has lewis driving it  And if it rains wont they all have downforce issues?

Not to the same extent. The Force Indias were pretty twitchy in a straight line today, and you saw how often McLaren had to use the 2008-specification rear wing during the wet testing sessions. If it's wet, I would bet on it being a car with the twin-decked diffuser in each of the positions one to six.

Lewis may be great in the wet, but if your car doesn't present the grip, then your ability counts for nothing. :/

I would be VERY interested to see how well Lewis does in the wet this season in a car that isn't the best in the field in the wet. He has proven himself to be remarkably mistake-free in wet races so far but i'm still not entirely convinced on his out and out pace in the wet as for the last 2 seasons McLaren have produced probably the most 'wet-friendly' car. This makes it difficult to see how much is the driver and how much is the car.

I look forward to wet races as they can be a great performance leveler but in the last couple of seasons, and I predict this season with the diffuser gang, aerodynamic packages and their ability to generate tire temperature will dictate wet races even more decisively than dry ones.

How come Heiki wasnt up there last year then?Lewis was a minute ahead of everyone.
Also if what you say is true, diffuser and aero package will dictate even more in wet weather then wet weather will not be a performance leveller.

if its thunderstorms i dont think downforce will even matter in those conditions. Mechanical grip will be what matters so who knows how that will go for them.

You only have to remember Monza qually - Lewis wasn't the weather god there. Ok he was compromised, but even so.

but once on the right tyres in the race he was one step ahead of the rest!
