You're right, Hammy's going off the deep end. He's getting worse. No one can deny there's an increase of mistakes on and off the track. He's spiralling uncontrollably into a chasm of insanity from which there is no escape. What was RD thinking putting 2 inexperienced drivers in the cars and expecting success? Keeping Alonso would have been a lot better for the team, whether or not his teammate would be Hammy or Kovi.

He should have some counseling. Such reckless drive with no respect for other drivers I haven't seen in time. If ever. Kid was loose canon. I know it is hard when one gets delusional and convince himself he is that good he can actually win starting from 13 in poor performing car, but hey, there are people trained to deal with that kind of problem.

If I were Lewis, I'd retire dad (he deserves some long winding down anyway after all, maybe play some golf and drive in one of those slow golf cars instead of sport supercars ) and hire realistic, down-to-earth management. Honestly. It would help Lewis in a long run...

Well, beside his curb-cutting, he almost took Heiki out of the race (guess he's getting into hitting Finns' back ). He seemed so eager to push through to front runners he simply ignored his own cappabilities and limitations. Adding that to his previous shenanigans...

And he does need proper manager. Someone who'll stop telling him "You're the best, son". Someone who will tell him something like "Hey, mate, that was stupid. Don't do that again". Obviously no-one told him anything like that yet.

After the race, he gave following statement (quote):

"I feel cool. It's all good. I'm still here, there's nothing you can do to get me out of it," he told reporters.

In an apparent message to F1's decision-makers, Hamilton also insisted he has not been fazed by the recent spate of decisions that have gone against him.

"There's nothing you can do that can distract me. You can keep on giving me penalties and whatever you want to do and I'll keep battling and try and come back with a result," he added.

Having seen a reply of Hamilton's overtaking maneuver on Vettel, I'm convinced that McLaren and Hamilton were both correct. Hamilton was clearly past Vettel before he went off the track. He may have gained some extra speed, but the overtaking maneuver had already been made, and had Hamilton braked/lifted off the throttle to stop himself going off the track, he could have forced Vettel wide and retained his place, for Hamilton would've had sufficient speed and Vettel would have been sufficiently far behind.

That is the beautiful thing about being on a webboard like this one. You have every right to type out any nonsensical crap you like and not have to back it up at all. For instance, you don't have to know anything about the physics of passing someone on a racetrack, or getting around a corner, traction circles, apexes, passing rules or anything. You can just make a screen name like McLarenFan and then post that in your completely unbiased opinion, everything bad that happens to Hammy is someone elses fault. What a wonderfully modern age we live in, eh?

The point is, even if what you say he could have done was possible...in order for the pass to be legal he has to do it, he can not just ignore the corner and keep going...he actually has to race the car...on...the....racetrack. When making a passing move you either remain on the pavement or the pass is illegal. The pass is complete when the two of you are back inline and both make the corner, until then you are still passing him even if your car is physically in front of him...get it now?

I'll give you that one, in fact I already did. In canada he did not gain a position but he did gain track space to hold off an oponent and when it happened I questioned it. But tell me, does that make Hamiltons pass any more legal? No, it doesn't. You can complain about inconsistant rulings and I would probably not say anything against it, but to proclaim that Hammy's pass was legal is simply rediculous. Any sanctioning body anywhere in the world would call that pass what it was...a penalty. Any racer who has run more than one season has without question done the same thing and nearly without question been called for it. Its racing...on a racetrack...not offroad. You can't pass someone in the dirt and a pass is not complete until the corner is over. It really is very cut and dried.

do you race Bill? you seem to know things from a racers perspective. dont worry if i was in Hamiltons shoes i would probably have let him go past again, especially because i drive for McLaren but i have only seen Hamiltons on board shot i would like to see an external shot before i make up my mind.
