Why? Its very easy to come on here and say the opening ceremony is so much worse than Beijing, without backing up your opinion with examples.

I personally think Beijing lacked soul. It was a robotic performance.

I've said it before but I'll reiterate..It was different, it was quirkey, it was humorous, it was inclusive, it was artistic, it was entertaining, it was British (which may not appeal to all, fair enough....but its the Uk Olympics ) I think it made other opening ceremonies look very one dimensional, this one succeeded on so many different fronts.
