So, as a summary, I'd say...

WELL DONE to

Vettel
Hamilton
Massa
Algersuari!!!
Senna
Kovalainen

And NOT SO well done to

MALDONADO
Alonso
Sutil...could've easily been in the Top 10 there...

Vettel has a knack of being last of the front runners to put in a time, this is partly key to his success in qualifying I think. That's apart of the skill of qualifying.

This last chance would mean nothing if his laps were actually slower than everone else's.

Track gets better every lap it's always been advantageous (in this universe anyway) to be last. Even more so on a green track.

Hey Vlad the gap to Webber is not really telling considering the factors involved like the traffic in S3. That ruined his lap.

lewis said his suspension was a bit damaged. Will they be allowed to fix that in parc ferme? Bet he'd have had pole without that. :banghead::banghead::banghead: MALDONADO :irked: never liked him much, definately gone down even lower now. When will we hear from stewards? Its worrying , cos lewis has his platinum card for the stewards and gets blamed for everything! It was his fault it rained!!

That Maldonado move on Hamilton has no place in F1 racing, deliberate driving into the side of another F1 car. Doesnt matter if he feels aggrieved about Hamilton getting up the inside of him off the last chicane, on top of perhaps what happened at Monaco. I hope he gets a serious reprimand as he could have ended the rest of Hamiltons qualifying.
See McLaren are still making team errors, surprised Button didnt decide to just ignore them again!

I'm always uneasy when Lewis has to go to the stewards. Needless to say, I get this feeling a tad too often :banghead:

FRAFF'S Thoughts of the day;

- Despite having about 20 backstage technicians and engineers looking each at like telemetry for one corner, somebody forgets the basics and on all of possible occasions doesnt do schumachers wheel nut right.

- Expect Hamilton to not take Vettel first corner, but get the better run and slipstream out of eau rouge, and pass him first lap, if not then, then definitely on kemmel straight or the back straight up to bus stop and every lap thereafter, this is what i think will happen in the dry but in the wet, he'll be all over him even more.

-Button and Schumacher to charge through the field like madman.

- Senna to continue to impress in the race but finish only as high as where he qualifies. Nice to see those that doubted him silenced.

- Webber to attack Vettel slowing both down, but eventually getting past, alonso catching vettel.

Maldonado receiving a penalty, its just as bad as schumi in hungary 2010 on rubens, and he didnt get banned, he didnt actually take Hamilton out either.

- Hamilton is NOT completely innocent in it all. overtaking Maldonado to finish his lap was perfectly fine, but he does kink the the right in the video ive watched like 5 times over now, and its definitely not to take the racing line in my opinion, much to sudden a move.

- Calls for Maldonado to be banned for the rest of the season are ridiculous. Knee Jerk reactions.

-Hoping for a dry or wet race but please god not both, vettel is so lucky that he'll come off best no doubt and the man most likely to challenge him in Hamilton (lets be honest) will probably be screwed by Mclaren

- I have to admit im wrong in thinking Whitmarsh screws Hamilton to favour Button, because he also screws Button to favour Hamilton intentionally or not. This is far and away beyond the distant hills a cringeworthy embaressment now, WHO IS IN CHARGE OF YOUR BLOODY CALLS MARTIN, THEYRE SO. BAD.
Why do they always have to go against the grain to be clever, just do what everyone else does!!!!

-Kobayashi outqualified again, but hes not a showoff like Perez, he does his talking in the race, where he will definitely finish ahead of him.

In my most humble opinion, and as a non-fan non-hater for any of them, and as a neutral third party, unless I have bad eye sights, they both moved in to each other.

If the stewards penalized MAL then it would only be logical that HAM will be penalized as well.

Though the BBC commentators seems to put 200% blame on MAL, I do believe that they moved in to each other.

On the other hand, I am thrilled for Senna, and Algusuari. I really think it will be great for f1 if senna can fight with the top teams. Seeing him in a black/gold lotus car is a sensation itself. It almost felt like that car is his from the very beginning. 6th for Algusuari, .

I think it's a little worse than Schumacher on Barrichello in Hungary '10, because the latter took place in the heat of a long-lasting battle for position during the race. The stupid incident that Maldonado concocted took place in none of those circumstances... it was in the cool-off period following some hot laps.

I've always held the opinion that Martin gets more stick than he deserves. We've seen other teams balls-up strategies, none getting more worse than the way Ferrari lost themselves the drivers' championship last season.

Yeah it was on the in lap after the chequered flag to end Q2, nothing like Schumacher and Barrichello. Schumacher was fighting for position, Maldanado was just venting his anger and deliberately hit Hamilton. Hamilton was on his own merry way back to the pits, Maldanado was the guy who sped up to Lewis pulled along side him, Lewis did veer right, whether this was to say F off or was surprised by Maldanados move is irrelevant, Maldanados next move is what will get him in most trouble a driver can get into. Deliberately causing a collision whilst not in racing conditions is as bad as it can get.

Really enjoyable qualifying today at Spa

The last few weeks have dragged but its now back and down to business..

Suprise Suprise Vettel is on pole (i will not repeat what i said when i watched him get it...there are too many swear words in the one little sentance) but meh good on him i suppose

There were a few suprises today (2 bad 1 good..in my eyes that is)

2 bad points were - Maldanado going into Lewis and Jenson not getting into Q3

Good point was seeing Alonso in 8th (but im sure he is going to have a good race tomorrow)

Why would Lewis move in? He has too much to lose - he's through to Q3 and needs the car intact! Even Hamilton is not that hot-headed, surely? Whereas Maldonado knew he was out, so any damage could be repaired before the race.
