I would be reluctant to say Lewis had a major influence in US and Deutschland sale increases for Mercedes.
First thought that comes to mind is those markets aren't really a Lewis market. Especially in the US where F1 and it's participants aren't really house hold names.

The names that a non F1 fan can probably recognize in the US are Schumacher, Andretti Vettel and Hamilton.

Case in point, Mobil 1 ads played for a long time with Lewis and Tony Stewart, when Lewis moved on from McLaren and they brought in Button to do those ads, they actually had to "introduce" him.

It's Wolfman's bday today. Apparently he bumped into this old dude with a red cap at Vienna airport and took a 'selfie'.

Why don't you go to the Ferrari Members only SubForum and be negative about it. I'm sick of reading it here.

Agree 100-f**kin-%.

Thanks for the hospitality!!

Perhaps you crybabies should create your own sub-forum. It seems to me the Tifosi here can take the heat including CF6's rants, but somehow you feel that he is untouchable. :hehe:

We don't need a private sub forum, all we need is a dedicated fan thread (this is a Merc thread, if you realize it's not in the GENERAL forum) and if members are allowed to share positive news about something they should be free to do so without full-time naysayers coming in saying "oh not true because BMW are still market leaders" Lol...it gets tired after a while.

If indeed Cookin made a claim about Lewis having a positive impact on Merc's global sales in the GENERAL forum and the naysayers jump in with their negativity going "no, its just not possible because" (an actually supports it with smth relevant), it's all good since it's a forum and everyone has an opinion.

It's cool that the red brigade have their own private paid dressing room so to speak, though maybe they could give the rest of the fans something similar....a thread where fans appreciate (or at least have the right to believe) what their teams/drivers are doing behind the scenes. Is this so goddamn difficult to understand? :)

It's not difficult to understand and if I somehow inadvertently stepped on your toes, then I sincerely apologize.
It's great to see that it's not only the "red brigade" that are ever optimists and defensive of their team/drivers!
Something else that binds F1 fans, regardless of whom they support! :D

What some are saying is that, if you think someone is being too positive about a driver or team on the thread created about them, then either come up with a proper counter argument or ignore it.
For example if I now say Mercedes have spent wisest and cleverest and got the most bang for bucks out of the f1 manufacturers, it might irritate you, but instead of come up with lame 'yes but' pendantic negativity, go over to the Ferrari thread and make your own positive claims. And if we turn up to rough you up a little at least we will have sound arguments for doing so and it wouldn't just be a knee jerk reaction to your enthusiasm

So... wearing rose-tinted glasses is ok, as long as it's in the right thread?
Gotcha!!

Just because there is nothing positive posted on the tifosi thread doesn't mean others have rose tinted glasses, just means some actual positive news
Sagi58, do you think Ferrari have spent money wisely and got much bang for the bucks recently? Like the money paid to Kimi, that was a great result.

Not being their comptroller and not having full access to their financial records,
I have no way of answering that to your satisfaction. :D

But at the same time you are happy to contest and complain about the suggestion that Mercedes have spent wisely and achieved their marketing and F1 aims when they employed Lewis?

Didn't "complain"; but, I did point out a flaw in your inference of the increase in sales in their luxury market.
You see, I was being very specific about that, whereas you tend to generalize.

Still i am unsure if their reach is big enough to increase sales alone in the US. Some know their face and name but do they really care if they see them with Mercedes enough to make them go buy one?
