"Lewis drove a perfect race here at Monza today, and duly took a well-deserved victory" is just one quote i found very easily, and something surely everyone agrees with. Hope that chip on your shoulder isn't weighing you down too much...

Going by that BBC interview though, he wasn't exactly falling over himself to praise Lewis.

Maybe because he's used to seeing Lewis kick some a*se, when Button does it it's something special for Whitmarsh. Can't blame him much since it's like once or twice a year.

I used the word, "consistently"—it is key here. Jenson was only where he was due to Alonso's problem in Q3 and secondly, at the race pace of both Alonso and Perez, Jenson couldn't keep that second place if he didn't have a failure. On the bigger picture, over the course of a season, he hasn't been able to match Alonso, Vettel or Kimi. A couple good races doesn't put him in a place where we can say with any ounce of confidence that he could help Lewis later in the Championship. Jenson is very hot and cold, mostly cold, in his performance...not something the team can count on if they need him to help Lewis. And as we just heard, he has no intentions of doing so anyway, even if the team asks (during one of his hot moments...if he has another of course).

I don't believe any of these quotes in papers and on websites; 90% of the time, these quotes are taken out of context!

Unless I see a driver say something on camera in full interview format; I tend to take anything quoted with a pinch of salt.

Why am I not surprised...NoGrip has always been MrTwoFace for me since his Williams/BAR debacle. Flashy smiles for the camera but a snake underneath. Anyway, all Lewis needs to respond to this - b*tchplease, you qualify behind me all the time and never keep up, help yourself first before talking out of your a*se.

Why is Button now becoming so worked up about Lewis winning another title?

Maybe he knows he'll never win another himself, so Lewis and everyone else must endure his insecurity and bitterness.
Insecurity has no place in F1. If Button feels that bad about himself, maybe he should retire.
