I know the Luca leaving thing is a lot of smoothing over smoke for getting fired, but there are legitimate details being talked about regarding the Fiat/Chrysler IPO and the direction and role the Ferrari brand will play in it. This is IMO an opportunity to clean house and get rid of the flotsam at Ferrari as a means of tidying up. Perhaps relinquishing the "methodologies" of the old ways in parallel as a means to streamline workings as a publicly traded company.

I find it funny how Luca leaves the same day Michael Schumacher originally leaves F1 AND this day last year, Massa left Ferrari...

What is this, the official day where so and so announces they leave Ferrari?

What happens is the team get excited before Monza, then the reality kicks in during and after the race, so they have a big drama ending in a bust up and then the tearful mea Culpa, followed by repairing to a bar in monza to get legless, someone doesnt pay his round and so hes the one letting down the side. By the time they all recover from the hangover and call the lawyers etc, its always the Wednesday after

So there you have it - tradition at its best

For sure sagi. It is interesting thinking about who might join and who might get shuffled around.

I think it would be a long shot, but it would be soooooooooo great if we could get Ross back at Ferrari.

When they say no, they really mean yes?

"I'm not considering a role at Ferrari or anywhere else at the moment. I'm not in contact with Ferrari and am not actively seeking a new role in Formula One," the Briton told Germany's Auto, Motor und Sport magazine.

There is F1 where historical precedent and facts suggest it's highly unlikely Brawn will be back to the team that unfairly sacked him now it's in flux, and there is also an alternative F1 where things we would like, happen just like that

The question of why he would come back to work for someone when he retired at the top and is happy now for me is the deciding factor. Lots of other things to do than F1

Stranger things have happened!!

If Ross wasn't shafted by Mercedes there'd be no chance of seeing him back at Ferrari. Hopefully he wants revenge.

I dont think Ross minded getting shafted after receiving a cheque for £100 mill for the team he paid £1 for a year before. In fact you could say Ross shafted Merc by quitting the moment his tie in period ended leaving them with the muppet show to take his place. Ross was tied in to Merc as part of his exit deal to make sure he didnt take off immediately leaving them with an expensive flop.

Ross could have stayed but as a massive influence on the team who no longer has any equity or shares at all in it, its the most dangerous situation for the new owners because he can leave at any time and start a rival team. So ofcourse the owners are not gonna make him the main honcho and I suspect he knew that and really wanted to go fishing and thats why it ended like it did. Now Ferrari shafted him Todt and Byrne royally, after they won all those titles they were unceremoniously dumped in favour of an all Italian management.

If Ross didnt want to stay at Merc as an employee, why would he want to go to a struggling team that sacked him as an employee???

Having someone like Ross would accelerate the teams recovery, no doubt.

I think the new Ferrari era will be built upon the foundations of reality and whats available as opposed to waiting for the messiah to rise on the 5th day and wave his wand. I am sure the guys running the show now will be making plans based on actual availability and not romance and passion. Bob Bell is available, is younger. Flavio is also available :scratchchin:

I think Flavio might fit in well  But why are we writing off the M&M man already? He has potential, he's convincing. Do Tifosi not think he will be staying?
