We are assuming the Merc do not walk away like Renault/Toyota/Ford/BMW/Honda between now and then.

EXACTLY.

Anyway, in the event that Lewis did shuffle off elsewhere, I'd be much more interested on who'd be taking his seat at McLaren. I won't be following Lewis anywhere!:wavey:

You're a dedicated team fan. I'd be supporting Lewis wherever he goes, but if they get a good solid driver to replace him, I'd hope for this driver to outperform NoGrip. Just for the pleasure of it. Honestly though, I don't know who they'd get...the field isn't too promising at the moment unless it's Rosberg.

how embarrassing would that look "no grip" getting beaten, when he in turn beat Lewis!

When are we speaking about? Last year? I'd give you that, but it's a fact Lewis' head was all over the place last year as he admitted himself. In terms of of outright skill, JB is 'nogrip' when compared to Lewis in my view. His flash in the pan moments happen on taking risks (changing weather conditions/new unproven car parts/etc) but in equal material there's simply no (grip) chance for JB.

JB has destabilized him this year with the telemetry thing.

He wishes. :hehe: He's been playing his Mouth since he moved to McLaren and it's worked well but Lewis is still outright no.1 in Mclaren in terms of an on track performer. Compare his wins in Hungary and Canada to JBs cruisin-around-cuz-everyone-else-is-gone wins.

Last year jenson finished higher than Lewis and you cant take that away from him. But if lewis hadnt, crashed out/been taken out so much, it wouldnt have been the case.

This year lewis has had the following misfortune

Australia - Lost 2nd place due to Safety Car.
China - Gearbox change.
Bahrain - 2 slow pit stops.
Spain - Low fuelled in qualifying.
Valencia - Maldonado crash
Germany - Puncture
Belgium - Grosjean crash

Non of his making. Yet still he leads Button.

maybe a more complete driver would of avoided being in those situations.

How do you avoid your team not putting fuel in? f***ing your pitstops twice in one race? Your gear box breaking? And madmen crashing into you? Even the complete Alonso got crashed into last week.

Ok how is Lewis responsible for 7 out of12 of his races being messed up this year as stated above?

You're eight Alonso is damned lucky he's only had one really bad misfortune.

Actually, RC, Lewis lost 2nd place due to Vettel being faster in Australia.
