Hamilton was on fire again, overtaking left right and centre until he got held behind Sutil. Shame for all that work he ended up only 1 placed ahead of Massa. Good win for Vettel, and its interesting to see that even with 25 points for a win for the 3 drivers who have won so far, Massa is leading the championship and he hasnt won a race yet!

Good entertainment today. The only disappointment was a lack of rain which seemed to be a given all week...

If you don't like Hamilton avoid my post, I may be gushing a bit

He was AMAZING today, from 20th to 6th! Lots and lots of overtaking, especially in the first half of the race, he was definitely the most exciting driver on the track. We saw a bit of it in Australia but it was even better today, just a shame he couldn't get past Sutil near the end. I was expecting something similar from Alonos but he had a dodgy gear shift to deal with, still did a great job though, until that rather unfortunate battle with Button.

I'm glad Vettel won ahead of Webber, if it had to be a Redbull then that's the order I'd have picked. Webber needs to be a bit more alert on the start in future.

Hispania :cloud9: They finished.

2 Stop?

Nope. Either start on the hards and run most of the distance, then do the last bit on softs or else do a short opening stint on the softs (the top-ten will likely do this) before switching to the hards and doing the rest of the distance on those, much like in Bahrain.

The point is moot. It will rain.

I will laugh if it doesn't rain after you've said this so emphatically, oh mighty all-seeing predictor of the weather...:P

Chortle... :hehe:

Brilliant race McLaren drivers drove brilliantly strong drivers and constructor positions. Wonder if Ferrari will be worried 3 engine blow ups in one race?

Taking the point that Alonso's clutch didn't work from the begining of the race... Ferrari could be very proud that he almost finished in that place.

What do you think about the "warning"?

Alonso managed his clutch brilliantly. Lewis his warning was fair his weaving was a bit excessive but crucially he didn't break the rule about how many blocking moves you can make because he wasn't blocking he was trying to break Petrovs tow.

I wish Webber had stayed ahead, but he only has himself to blame for that one.

So glad Massa beat Alonso......and loved Smedleys radio message when Felipe overtook-"Good boy, well done....now get on with it":rofl:

I wasn't disappointed by the lack of the rain. There was some good racing from Alguersuari and Petrov, and obviously watching the faster cars make their way in to the points was entertaining. Really liked seeing Sutil hold Hamilton off to score his first points of the season, also Massa taking the championship lead was sweeeet. One thing that did disappoint me was the pace of the Williams cars in the dry. It was good that Nico got himself a point, but really bad considering where both cars started.

Kubica's drive was quiet, but solid. He scored decent points again and is really bringing something to Renault. He and Petrov seem like a good pairing for this year. Also, the double-finish from Hispania is good to see. If they can manage to get their car reliable, then they can start working towards moving forwards. :)

Something tells me that moaning about traditionally slower drivers holding up arrogant drivers like Hamilton and Alonso's not a popular view on here, who'd have thought it! :P

Bring back kers to restore overtaking for the love of god!!!

Cars on the same lap have every right to hold up faster drivers-doesnt make for good racing though. The cars need more mechanical grip and loose the aero....but thats another thread  Arrogant? Why were Alonso and Lewis being arrogent?

This from autosport.com:

"From the start things went wrong," Alonso told Spanish television. "On the formation lap my gearbox broke and I had no clutch during the race, so I had to brake in a weird way.

"I had to first gear down and then push the throttle hard so it would engage the gear for that corner.

"So it was probably the hardest race of my whole life in terms of driving, because I had to improvise for every corner. But even so we were going to get a few points, which in the end was not possible because of the engine.

Quite amazing he could keep up with FM and even challenge JB in this way. Sounds like he was almost double-shifting like in a truck

Expect some fire from this man later in the season - although right now I think the RB's are in a different league.

Not so much in this race but in general :) that is Alonso and Lewis seem to have a similar personalities to Schumacher and Senna before them, that I expect to win swagger. Arrogance or extreme confidence?

Wow. That's spectacular. I didn't realise his problem was that bad.
