Renault didn't expect Nelson to beat Alonso, he was never asked to. He was however asked to be there if something happened to Alonso. He has done neither all year.
Ridiculous. I'm sick trying to defend the guy.

I had a look on FORIX at some statistics. Quite simply, Alonso blew Piquet off the track this weekend. In equal equipment and on a track Piquet claims to like, this is absolutely scandalous.

yea, i must admit, i have tried defending Piquet, and im now at the stage where i think he has had more than enough chances. enough is enough

Well they should have thrown Nelsinho away before the start of this season, im wondering why they didnt. By this bad step, they might have lost some points, some other driver could have gained with that car, which has potenial to win.

Grosjean will be in that second Renault seat for Valencia.

Seemingly not...

Grosjean hardly deserves the Renault seat judging from his very complacent drives in GP2 this year. If he doesn't wake up from dream-land he could well perform just as badly or even worse than Piquet did.

I hope he gets in and does well, as I hope Piquet gets another chance someday, like Glock.

Piquet piquet piquet...

I like the guy, and I would really love to see him get some good results going but its really not happening. But if we got rid of him, who could we replace him with to justify better results.

its a visious circle...made of FIRE.

im hoping renault will do the right thing and pick up a new lead man for 2010 like KUBICA or RAIKKONEN/MASSA though

Yeah he'd be a good no.1 driver without having to give any input outside of racing.
But yeah he could be a great racer and no.1 driver, just don't expect him to talk.

Kubica would be a good choice if Renault could get him, although I kinda like him at BMW Sauber. They could also try tempting Rosberg, but I think Nico is pretty much going to either stay at Williams or go to McLaren.
