Im also very surprised that there hasnt been much debate about the move Webber took on Jean-Eric Vergne, which earned him his penalty.

If this were to have been a Vettel or a Hamilton move, then we'd have had a dedicated thread at least 6 pages long by now, with arguments, diagrams, quoted rules and at least one fishing trip dished out....

Is it that people are not that passionate about him so dont care? Does he not have enough haters to moan about it or enough fanboys to vehemently defend him?

Or is it, he is too well respected by most people, so we let it slide....?

When me and my mate saw it live we were both like "Stupid mark" but i havnt seen a replay

race 5-6/10 the tires are annoying me more every race.

For me,the thing is that Webber has been regarded as the number 2 driver by some fans(or most of the),and people don't seem to look out for his mistakes as much as for Lewis,Fernando,Seb.

Other than that,I haven't seen the crash live,I've just seen it on YouTube but tbh,I don't see much fault with Webber, didn't Vergne drive inside of the turn,I mean he could leave some space.

Why should a competitive racing driver leave the door open for a competitor to dive bomb on the inside?

But this was a dangerous thing to do,which is better having a collision or being overtaken? He could keep on catching up the pace if he left enough space.

Note:I liked the picture you added above :D

When it is dangerous to drive in a normal way, there is something wrong. Hence why Webber was given a penalty.

Webber just got hasty and impatient. Ofcourse it was his fault, the care has to come from the driver attempting the overtake. The TR took a strange line but he had probably been told to let Vettel through and got confused when he realised vetell was miles ahead

On the contrary, Vettel was right behind Webber at this point. Which is what I think contributed to Webber's impatience.

The cooler thing I noticed this weekend is the new digital multiview TV broadcast;
4 views at the same time:
1. shows the regular tv broadcast from Fox Plus or ESPN or Starsports
2. driver view camera (changing drivers about every 2nd lap)
3. pit area view with data, such as all steward investigations and their results are published on this one
4. lap and sector times and positions of all drivers (pretty cool to follow the non top3 drivers and their positions if interested)

and you can choose the sounds between them:
1. regular tv commentators
2. pure racing noice, no talk
3. team radio (this was fun especially at the end when you could follow the comments between Lotus, Merc and Red bull almost simultanesly commenting on same situation.

not sure if this is common practice everywhere, first time I noticed this option in Singapore, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't available last season. Finally some useful features in digital TV. Makes it tough to follow, when you start focusing on radio messages, laptimes and overtaking moves at the same time (especially after a few beers).

"He's been very polite so far this year ... he needs to toughen up"
McLaren's Martin Whitmarsh on the uninspiring start by new driver Sergio Perez

He said this after the race...I reckon Whitmarsh has lost his marbles a bit.

I read that....wasn't sure whether to comment on it or not, but since you've brought it up. My view is what does Whitmarsh hope to gain by criticising a new driver in public after only his 3rd GP? Do it in private if it needs doing!!! He always talked Button up when he performed badly against Lewis. What will this do to Checko's confidence?

I like how the daily Heil are already rounding up the lynch mob for Sergio. This has to be the dumbest article for a while even for the Heil

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/formulaone/article-2309301/Chinese-Grand-Prix-2013-Sergio-Perez-improve-McLaren--Phil-Duncan.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490

First they cant even work out 'how bad' Perez is 3 times getting his points and position in the race wrong. First he hasnt scored any points at all, then he scored 1 point, he is the worst Mclaren driver in 20 years but Brundle came highest 8th in his first 3 races.
Then not a single mention that the car was bad to start and has been built around Jenson who likes to understeer his way around tracks and Sergio prefers things on the oversteer tip.
Then they compare him to many other drivers who started at Mclaren, but forgot to say they were all vastly experienced already
And Button has a get out of jail card already, he is getting the best out of the 5th best car by coming 6th when others in better cars had dnfs or other problems.
And Whitmarsh says Sergio needs to be more aggressive and toughen up? The same guy who told the press that Lewis needed to learn not to be aggressive and let other drivers go

I know many on here think there is too much criticism of Mclaren from a few, and they might prefer everyone to just say nothing and pretend all is well, but this is beyond ridiculous, blaming Sergio and forgetting who employed him to be a tame 'second' equal number 1 to a guy who cannot do any better than drive to the cars capability.

Forums exist and flourish because they allow things to be said and aired outside the watered down establishment opiated crap. The more wrong comes from Mclaren the more vocal things might get

This GP had the least pages worth of discussion of any GP since I've been a member.

Maybe that is because there were much fewer arguments that spawned 10 pages of crap!

I'm Just Saying... :P

Yeah I know! It's usually well into the 30s. What happened there?
