Button disobeys teamorders in Turkey 2010: not much happens

Team orders were banned in 2010 and Jenson didn't get the better of his faster team mate anyway

So it's ok if you only try to screw someone over but fail?
Wow, I am glad I am not a friend of you in real life...

Button disobeys teamorders in Japan 2010: not much happens

I can't remember any teamorders, I remember Hamilton loosing 3rd gear and Jenson passing him

Which is why the team told Jenson to hold station.

Webber disobeys teamorders in Britain 2011: everyone supports Webber for disobeying teamorders

I remember Red Bull giving Vettel Webbers front wing, I don't remember Webber being told to hold position and not challenge Vettel

Front wing is 2010.
Vettel had a bad pit stop, and then later KERS problems, and Red Bull told Webber to maintain the gap.
Instead, Webber proudly announced to the world he ignored teamorders and tried to overtake.

Webber disobeys teamorders in Abu Dhabi 2012: everyone slants Red Bull for giving teamorders

don't remember anything about this race (I think I was drunk !)

Before the race, Webber said in an interview he would not comply to teamorders. Later in the race, he held up Vettel and was then called into the pits.

Webber disobeys teamorders in Brazil 2012: everyone slants Vettel for not starting faster

Did Red Bull tell Webber not to pass Vettel at the start? I do remember Webber letting Vettel past during the race and being thanked by the team

Red Bull told Webber not to fight with Vettel. Instead, Webber turned away from the Ferrari's he let past, and instead squeezed Vettel.

Vettel disobeys teamorders in Malaysia 2013: OMG, teamorders should always be followed!!!

it's funny that all the Red Bull fans that were totally outraged by Ferraris actions in Germany 2010 think that Vettels actions yesterday were perfectly acceptable

If one were outraged by teamorders in 2010, then what is funny about thinking that the disobeying of teamorders is perfectly acceptable?

Personally, I always so go for it, and even double so when it concerns a driver who has time and time again shown a total disregard for teamorders.

I don't think him and Webber have ever been friends.

If you try to screw someone and fail then you've only succeeded in screwing yourself IMO (I can't recall button wining any fans with his actions)
I'm also glad your not one of my friends in real life

when did they tell him to hold station ?
Jenson finished 26 seconds in front of Lewis

Your right the wing was 2010 my bad.
I never heard Webber say he ignored team orders (link maybe), what I remember seeing was Webber being told to maintain the gap sticking it up the inside to show he was faster, again being told to maintain the gap then the gap was maintained

I can't find any evidence what Webber allegedly said in an interview before the race ?

your right the starts are so easy to organise who will be there next to you !

What this whole episode did show me, is that Christian Horner is the wet lettuce I thought he was

If I go through the trouble of finding the links, will you be fair enough to accept their contents, or is it just going to end up in more excuses that when Webber said ""If I'd backed off and held the gap at three seconds, as I was asked to do, it would have been much more difficult for me to sleep after the race." I'm gonna waste 40 posts of why he didn't really mean that?

For the record, the teamorder in Silverstone was to hold the gap. Not overtaking was the logical conclusion, but Webber was in clear breach when he did not maintain the gap.

I'm not making any excuses for Webber, If anything the Vettel fans are trying to justify his actions by saying "but Webber did it first and worse"

if the articles are as you say I will have no problem accepting them nor will I dispute that that is what Webber really meant
(I'm not calling your integrity into question, I just don't recall reading anything like that)

Webber did maintain the gap ! he was all over the back of Vettels car probably complaining about how much faster he was like Rosberg
but he obeyed the order and stayed behind

so what was the team order at Sepang ? catch him up and pass him Seb

the team order was given when Vettel was 4s adrift and mark had turned his engine down

The sad thing is, I am not even surprised anymore by this hypocritical bull :censored:
Double standards running rampant these days :rolleyes::rolleyes:

The whole episode was a real life parody of the movie "Cars"....... and Sebastian Vettel just showed the world that he really isn't Lightening McQueen but is actually Chick Hicks.

Maybe it's time for SV to move on and join Ferrari...

Absolutely not, at Ferrari they would never stand to have a driver overrule the team. He may have actually sealed his fate with the scuderia.

Uh, wrong - he would never be in a similar position as he'd have no. 1 status, absolute no. 1 status in a Schumacheresque way, so he'd never have to fight his teammate.

Not while Alonso is there. So when is he moving over?

2014 is when his contract with RB expires, so that's when FA should retire anyway

From your mouth to god's... oh, that's right. You're a non believer. Like I'm a non believer in Seb's ability to drag a poor car onto the podium like Alonso did last year. He's got a great qualifying lap in him when he needs it though, second to none maybe. :hehe:

I think What we saw last year in the early part with him struggling, yet Webber being able to get better results would give a team that doesn't also have Adrian Newey come along reason to pause.

But who knows, 2014 is an eternity away and we've got new engines and stuff between here and there. Let's see what happens.

I chose to race as hard and as fair as I thought was possible, trying my best to beat Seb. I got pretty close a couple of times but couldn't quite pull it off.
...
To manage it but then be told to hold position is something I wasn't prepared to follow at the time. If I'd backed off and held the gap at three seconds, as I was asked to do, it would have been much more difficult for me to sleep after the race.
At the same time, I knew I was going against the team's wishes.

-BBC

Asked if he expected to have to obey team orders, that might request him to concede his position to title leader Vettel, Webber gave a steely response.

"I will drive flat out," he said.
...
What happens in the race? Webber costs Vettel half a second in 1 sector.

-Australian News

But then again, we had the same thing in Brazil the other way around.
