Apart from the time gaps, i haven't noticed anything so far.

But I only raced 2 races since I installed the patch.

I never spend too much time on cataluna and monaco...it's like:
qualify last? crash in the second lap(monaco)?

no biggie....I have the rest of the season to compensate...

Agreed... I do like when I hit a perfect lap on those circuits, but I just can't keep the consistancy there. You are lucky to get a wiff of the points paying positions..

Seems that the weather is my friend. Lucked in to a podium at Monaco and again at Canada, where the Lotus seems to be quite good anyway.

Got a bunch of teams showing interest in me now. But when do the actual offers come in?

I have a huuuge problem on the game. I'm driving in the Toro Rosso and have so far only competed in three races, because I keep spinning out. I have traction control on slightly, and ABS - I think it's on a harder difficulty level.

In practice I can always get the fastest lap but only ever seem to finish 3 laps the rest I always spin out in. In qually I am near the front - first or second. But I tend to attract a lot of penalties.

My races in Bahrain and Australia didn't work out because of hard tires. In Bahrain I finished 20th after qualifying last and running as high as 7th, until I changed to hards and ended up in a wall. and in Aus I finally stuck with a DNF after trying to restart for a whole week. My rule is I can restart if less than 20 laps have been completed. After changing to primes I once again spun out a few times and ended up in the wall.

My approach in Malaysia was slightly different: I ran all three practice sessions on hard tires. I qualified in Q1 and Q2 on softs, but this time I wanted to try Kobayashi's tactic of starting on hards, and making up positions towards the end. Surprisingly I qualified on pole using hards, but had 5 places deducted for dangerous driving.

My starts on hards are always shocking - I lose 5 places before the first corner. I can manage to outbreak all but a couple of drivers into the first corner. But I am sooo slow. A train of cars ends up behind me. Any cars that overtake me conveniently end up driving into the back of me. :hehe:

After taking out 4 other cars defending 4th place, I kept that position for about 20 laps until I spun out, and lost 4 places. I went into pits and changed to softs and was instantly setting fastest laps and could make up a 5 second deficit in 2 laps. Unfortunately I also kept on over shooting corners and having to rejoin the track. I finished 9th in the end.

What can I do about my pace on hards, does anybody know?:wavey:

Usually at the end of the season when you achieve your team's objectives, when you achieve your new team's necessary level and beat your main rival...

It's also good to say things that you would like to move to another team in PR's.

Is it only my Ps3, or PS3 is not good enough to run the game?
Mine has had lag moments very often....

Learn that they won't yield the same grip as the softs, nor heat up as fast as them, and try to adjust your style? :)

At the start, I had issues with them, too, especially with race starts. Like you, I'd lose five positions and have to get them back through some very questionable moves in turn one. Part of that is controlling wheelspin off the line, though. In the end, I managed to get to a point where I could only lose one or two places off the grid, which I could easily reclaim.

I have to admit, I've got the TC on full (using a pad) because otherwise I find myself spinning too much, but other than that all assists are off. It just takes some getting used to.

Got an offer from Lotus after Silverstone. Not signing; I have STR, Sauber, Virgin and Hispania interested so far. Hoping for Williams or Force India, but if not then Sauber will do. :)

Same here! :D

One thing I found was very easy to do at Malaysia was squeeze Petrov into the pit wall at the start on my inside. Then when I looked behind I'd see him flip and end up spinning upside down like a top.

But in the race I completed, the only questionable moves I did was aggressively defend my line. When I finally made it to the sweet softs I was blindingly quick, but overshot a few corners. I forgot about my last remaining "flashback" and waited for a couple of cars to pass, then I got frustrated so I drove onto the track and ended up on top of a Sauber. Reversed, left him for dead, and had to make up the 4 positions I had lost, only to use my flashback on the very next lap. 2 corners after that, I was off the track again. :hehe:

But I don't understand why I'm 3 seconds off the pace with primes....

Could be a setup thing, I guess. I only lose a few tenths now, then the pace picks up as the fuel goes down. The track does rubber in so you'll find that the prime tyres are better towards the end of the race than the start. What kind of setups are you using for these tracks and which car are you driving?

I'm driving the Torro Rosso, I fiddled with the toe and camber of the car to try and help me conterract my lack of grip - but it just seems to make the softs even faster and the hards even slower. With the auto-setups that I can do with the engineer I don't have it all the way at the end, because it spins too easily. So I have it third from the end.

But the car seems to be broken. For instance, I couldn't floor the final corner in Melbourne with out spinning into the pit wall. In Malaysia at turn 10 I lose the car accelaratin every time. I don't have wheel spin coming out of the hairpin before it. I can always feel the car slipping.

So I always found I'd have to ease off the throttle in these corners on the hards which costs me a second easy.

Are you using a pad?

No. I'm playing it on the PS3, using the left joystick for steering. I couldn't drive with the default setting of having the right joystick for accelerating and braking, as I'm used to Gran Turismo. So I changed that be X and Square.

I think that could be one of the causes there. I cannot control the weight on the accelerator, so I can't accelerate slowly. It's just all or nothing. I notice I'm having real difficulties slowing down for corners. And after one hour of racing it feels like my thumnail will fall off.

Ah. That's how I used to drive F1 2006 on the PS2. Not fun.

I'm playing on the Xbox 360, which has the triggers for accelerating and braking, much easier. Try switching your TC up to full to compensate, if you haven't already. You'll still be slowed, but you shouldn't end up spinning as a result of too much wheelspin as much, at least.
