Lorenzo unflappable as title battle heats up

Fiat Yamaha rider settles for second –and valuable points- in Assen.
Valentino Rossi currently leads the MotoGP World Championship. Jorge Lorenzo is following him all the way. A wall separates the Fiat Yamaha duo in the garage, but these two rivals are even closer on track as the Spaniard gives his more experienced team-mate plenty to worry about. A fiftieth Grand Prix podium in Assen continued Lorenzo’s near-perfect run of rostrums in 2009 –only a crash when chasing third at Jerez stands out as an anomaly on his recent record- and the sophomore competitor was left pondering what might have been had he been speedier off the line on Saturday. “I am happy, because despite an awful start and there being some sections of the track where I lost a lot of ground, I pushed at my limit. Especially at the start of the race,” said number 99. “When I saw that my front tyre was starting to slide, I said ‘enough’ and settled for second place,” he added, showing the maturity in chasing points rather than glory that has won many a rider the World Championship. “We had a great race with a fierce pace that dropped half a second, so I really couldn’t have done any more.” Next week’s race takes place at Laguna Seca, where Lorenzo crashed out last season just seconds into the Sunday showdown. He is, as one would expect, unfazed by this fact. “I don’t put limits on myself with tracks. I won in Japan this year and Portugal last season without ever having won at those tracks, so I don’t think having had less track time there will be very important,” He concluded.

To me this shows real maturity! and the will of a real champion! now all us men know how hard it is to compete then give up and settle for second! we just can't do it! now for him to be able to do that, proves to me he has balls? but also he has a real head screwed on with the will power to not only just think maturely, but think strategically! he has another race this week! so he can really prove himself! I think he is really forming up nicely! and his personality is forming nicely too! he really is becoming a perfect little package at the moment

Thats if Rossi continues in Moto GP
Rumours are, that if Ferrari start running a third car, Rossi would be interested in a driver. In my opinion, that'd be pretty interesting to see. Just as John Surtee's did. Though I find it hard to see Rossi winning a championship in F1. But.. You never know.
Its too late for him to switch to F1, he'll do rallying. (Would have loved to see him in a ferrari tho!! If ever there was a persfect Ferrari driver!)
I totally agree, if Ferrari did ever run a 3rd car they will want someone to jump in and basically rip the ground up and win, win, win! Rossi would take at least 3 races to get to grips that overtaking is harder than Moto Gp, and also he might have to settle with 17th if the car don't work! now i have seen his face and attitude when he does not win or even come in a good position! his face drops like a baby! so he will have a tough time dealing with F1! Plus if Alonso wanted the seat? He would really have a battle against him! Another Spaniard in his way

But the only thing that would work to his side would be his nationality!
You didn't shut me up VB because of you points.I myself held back cause Internet arguments are futile.I don't want to argue with you cause having read this whole 13 pages of thread most ppl over here know why its really useless to argue with you. And No its not because of your super statistics & fact. I got caught up last time [almost this time aswell]. I think I need to follow others lead over here in dealing with you I guess.
V-B I think some of us are getting the impression that your just a trolling MotoGP fan who is only here to stir the F1 pot, what say you?
No, I've always liked Moto Gp, because my cousin liked it, he always supported Rossi, but i always liked opposites because i hated being like him....Like my first mo-ped was a Rossi one....lolol But this season i have noticed something different, i have always watched the 250cc class since Jorge came into it and have kind of admired him, but by his 2nd season i kinda got hooked, but had no personal views on it, like i have with F1 today, because it's more relaxing to be spectator than a fan, because when your fan your heart rides on it, like when Michael clinched a title, my heart dropped! When Jorge lost the last race, my heart dropped, and i swear i could of cried over a sport! I liked being a spectator, but by last season i was rooting for Stoner & Lorenzo, same as this season....In F1 i am not a fan, i just like and admire drivers....
Cool
.
