I'd be really interested to know the answer to that one!

EDIT ah! Interesting answer LRW! Pirelli have said this track has become no good for testing because its too different to the others. So he trades days at the useless track to get more at the better track. Canny thinker! Poor Massa :(

If Jerez were so useless no one would have turned up. I think it was Webber who said yesterday that the layout has a good mix of turns which is useful for the car, but Pirelli are just saying the track surface needs relaying to help in terms of tyre testing. And just to clear something up, Alonso gets one extra day at the first Barcelona test, Massa still has track time. Either way you could argue that the only truly worthy test is the second Barcelona test, the final one, where those two are sharing duties equally.

I dont recall anyone saying Jerez was useless, just that Alonso thought Barcalona would be more useful. So that's where he asked to go.

Ok, useless was too strong a word. What I should have said was , when asked if the track was too rough for useful tyre work, Pirelli replied "certainly, for tyre evaluation yes"

Edit. I didn't even say it was useless :hehe:

Interesting.

In Teds Notebook, Ted said that the REAL reason Alonso hasn't been at this first test is because all the work so far has been basic debugging donkey work (which Massa stated is all he has done so Dar), and basically he doesn't want to waste his time with that, and only wants to spend his time on car setup.

Three different days, and three different teams have topped the sheets.

No, Massa set the fastest time overall, and he only drives for Ferrari :P

Usual story for the early tests.

Given the lack of rule changes it'll probably be another season like 2012.

Actually yeah. Although Perez and maybe Ferrari's new wind tunnel might change things at the front. Some changes lower down the field too. Sauber really appeared to be going places, so did Lotus.
