That was a good race but man I was hoping Lewis could have overtaken Vettel for the win.

You and me both Tex! I could hardly watch!

Vettel's overtaking... :eek::eek:

I know the tyre difference was significant, but nevertheless I take back everything I've ever said about him.

That is all.

To be fair though the tyre difference is unreal,Jenson done just about the same, the tyre difference is that great if your on old rubber you have no chance defending.

Some of us knew that for a while already - glad you're seeing the light now

I had £5 at 15/2 on a Lewis win so I was praying he got by :hehe:

Just goes to show how useless praying is :P

Great race today, I just wish Lewis had been able to pass Vettel. Still, you can't have everything! McLaren were great in the race today, and if the track was better suited to overtaking (e.g. like Shanghai or Istanbul) he would've passed the Red Bull without a doubt. Shame about the start for both McLarens, but Hamilton and Button did exceptionally well. 8-)

Vettel was also impressive with keeping a cool under extreme pressure. Well done to him. Webber seemed to blame the tyre performances and regs yet again, but it's getting tiresome now. He wasn't good enough. Simple as that. :bs:

Alonso did his best for the fans, but Ferrari are way off. Massa's race was diabolical.

Finally Schumacher outperforms Robserg. Nice recovery from Nick Heifeld! Good to see Sauber with both cars in the points. Perez looks like he's getting his season back on track.

Relieved that no penalties were handed out. I bloody hate the result of the race being altered when it's finished.

Well until now he sure kept that light hidden under a bushel!

Not really mistress as I have made a few prayers over the years while watching a race that came true but thinking back now I do not know why as I liked those drivers, almost freaked myself out in '86 when less than a lap later it happened. Actually it was more freaky than anything else and I was kinda chuffed for the unfortunate driver.

Strange thing these Pirelli's are and leaning towards Alonso's early performance as I thought a win could be possible. I'm kinda on the bandstand lately (strictly personal) that I want to see ANYBODY/ANY TEAM beat Vettel and RedBull but it look's as if I might have to wait until next year or until 2013 unless the FIA changes it's mind 'mid-date' again about putting out and shutting up. I'm going Dutch until I know more.

Is anyone really surprised that Adrien Newey won again today? :yikes: I'm willing to stick my neck out and bet the flat spot on Hammy's tire cost him the win today.

Not just the flat spot. Also the fact that the start wasn't great. Neither were the pit stops compared to Vettel's. Then there's the fact that Barcelona simply isn't a great circuit for passing, though we saw considerably more of it this year that in the past.

I wouldn't be so willing to stick that neck out if I were you. The facts don't support it. He went out on a flat spotted tire and did just as well with it as anyone else in front of him. Perhaps that may not have been the case if Alonso hadn't moved into the lead effectively hold the Red Bulls back from the clean air. After that first stint it was equal footing for all and Lewis had a phenomenal second stint with that set of options even getting fastest lap when the set had 10 laps on it. Today was the first race I've seen that Vettel truly won with skill and not simply by having the best car.

I wonder what would have been said of Hamilton if he'd gotten past the Red Bull, but it wasn't to be. Vettel currently is one of the top three best drivers on the grid, and he's certainly got the best car on the grid.
