I think Jenson will have a good race, lets see where he ends up at the end of the race.

What kind of half assed support is that? You're supposed to say you can't wait to see him driving for the scuderia.

Let's face it, he would've definitely done better than Kimi today lol

Of course I might be a bit biased since I was and am still a big fan of the best non-WDC I've witnessed in F1.

He was definitely an expert at having zero ambition

I agree. The car should've been much further up the grid than that.

We will see in a few hours time; Jenson does tend go better in the race than qualifying. Q has been his Achilles heel for a few seasons now!

Jenson is definitely better on race day compared to Q. And remember, there are no points given on Saturdays. Having said that, when the team gets his Q strategy right he can hold his own. Still, I'm really looking forward to seeing what he can do later today.

Don't everyone speak at once to praise Jenson for his good performance on Sunday, started six places behind his team mate and still came home immediately behind in 3rd! :P

And with a broken bit of aero on the front of his car. It was an excellent race from Jenson. I did mention it in the race thread.

Yep, brilliant drive, especially considering he spent much of the first half of the race completely held up by other cars.

Another intelligent drive from button. He needs to improve on his qualifying though if he wants to be a contender this year...

He had a good steady race and got on the podium, can't knock that. But he didn't overtake to get there it was all done in pitstops and with Ricciardo getting Dq'd . Still he did it and he brought home the points and McLaren are leading the championship. So it has to be a Great big 'well done!'

I thought Jens did alright during the race, good strategy on the Pit Stops though. I wonder if Jenson made the call or the team? For some to say he 'cruised and collected' I think that is a tad unfair. He got to 4th place, did Alonso just 'cruise and collect"?

I believe I heard Jenson say that he made the call, on the first one anyway.
If he made that call then that's three places he gained by it, it was an excellent call. But the fact remains that five places were made up on pitstops, two through other drivers retirements and one from a DQ, not through overtaking on the track.

You can't compare him to Alonso, his car isn't as good as the McLaren at this point in time. But I seem to remember Alonso getting feisty at times in the race and he beat his team mate quite convincingly in both quali and race.

I know RC that you have no love for Jenson and I appreciate that you saw the benefits of the Pit Stop. I was not comparing Button to Alonso, I was simply saying that I did not think Button 'cruised and collected' I think he and the team made the best of a bad qualifying and got 2 cars into the top five.

I have no doubt that Mercedes are the team to beat and Lewis will be there, but on a Jenson Support thread I think your comments were a bit unneccessary.

What comments are you referring to?

"He had a good steady race"?
"He brought the points home for McLaren"?
" the pit call was excellent" ?
"It has to be a great big"well done"?

Which one are you objecting to?

And what has Lewis and Mercedes got to do with Jensons race?
