Well, Jenson has good stats for this race. And the car is looking pretty good.hes in a much better position than this time last year.
I just wish he'd shut up about balance and grip :banghead::banghead: that's what setting the car up is all about.

Oh come on RC; Lewis didn't his fair share of moaning about grip and balance last season!

I'm sure Lewis has had his moments of being disgruntled, but it isn't week in week out whatever the situation, on and on about grip and balance. Lewis is generally more upset when he's not performed to the standard he'd like, he rarely blames the car, usually blames himself. And the brakes weren't to his liking last year, he did mention that.
Jensons in a good situation at the start of this season. Clear team leader, the best engine , a good car, and a track where he's one of the only drivers to have multiple wins. Some people have him as favourite to win. He should be feeling positive.

The difference between Lewis and Jenson when complaining about grip and balance is that Lewis mentions it in the context of the cars performance and Jenson mentions it in the context of HIS OWN performance.
Lewis gets 100% of what the car has -' the car could use more grip'
Jenson does not get 100% or anywhere near what he got out of it in FP1 or Q1 or whenever he is not pressured - 'I could not find the previously available grip'

However in Jensons defence his approach makes the engineers work harder and with more focus as he is very precise with his requirements to allow him to extract his maximum

Whereas with Lewis its likely the engineers wont get precise requirements, only a 'make the car better'

So as a team leader Jenson must be an engineers dream, providing they have time and no pressure

Jenson fans, you will love this positive piece on Jenson by his loyal well dined mate David Coulthard. Lewis fans, if you value your health I don't recommend reading it. Biggest load of codswallop I've read for sometime. :irked::banghead::ranting::thumbdown::curse::curse::furious:

Im Not even going to bother countering it, it's not worth my time.

Because I hadn't read it before and I was beginning to get over David coulthards bias and think he was ok....fool that I am ( and I didn't read the date. Lol. I was searching for something else and saw it and that was it.EXPLOTION!!

I agree that Jenson does need a more stable car underneath him to be at his best; but in practice 1; Jenson asked the team if they wanted him to talk about the car balance over the radio before saying anything. At this point in practice, you want a driver to tell you that the balance is off. And I think that Jenson gets a bad rap for "No Grip". It seemed to me that every time he mentioned having poor grip, he got broadcast over the air, he may have only said it once per race, but it's broadcast every time! The same as when Lewis was having a rant over the radio about the tyres or his own performance. It's sensationalist broadcasting, they pick and choose which soundbites to broadcast!

You should check out on Youtube the interviews Button gives after qualifying. This is where his great reputation as a PR friendly driver comes from, because he is always willing to explain why a guy as skillfull as he is qualified in 15th or wherever.

And he is so media friendly and articulate that the press encourage hm to explain 'what went wrong this time Jenson'

To which he has no choice but to help them out by saying 'something mysterious hppened, I couldt find the grip in Q3, the balance went missing in Q3, I have to go away and check the data with my engineers'

I think thats the difference between him and others who also mention grip. Jension do3snt seem to like dissapointing the press by saying 'in Q1, I went fast, in Q3 when I had a flying lap on softs I did not get it right, I did not max the lap'

So being the helpful chap he is he says 'something mysterious happened, I HAD NO GRIP'

Anything bad said about Button there? I see none, Cookin seems to be referring to him as a honesty personified and a very likable chap while others don't bother sugarcoating their ill feelings, but Button takes the trouble to do it.

What's next, certain members not being allowed to post on certain threads anymore? Geez, chill out already.

I have pushed the envelope of being supportive of Button whist attempting to discuss the facts involved in why 'no grip' is associated with him more than others who have also complained about no grip at times. I have pushed really hard to post what I would like to see posted about Lewis when others are discussing facts about him.

Positive, supportive, respectful yet factual

Comparing someone isn't always positive, in fact, it's just one more way to be negative without appearing to be!
That, my friends, is the politically correct way of being critical. 'Tis an art and to be appreciated as such!!

I think Jenson will have a good race, lets see where he ends up at the end of the race.

The title is quite extreme..but

Why did Hamilton join Mercedes? “I would strongly suspect he’s not trying to write a legacy. He’s living his life, he likes driving cars and is good at it. He’s seeking out opportunities based on potential and financial reward. I don’t think he’s sitting there thinking, ‘My goal is to be the great British achiever of Formula One’.”

“It’s inevitable that when you go from a youth training scheme to being a multimillionaire, significant changes happen. This Mercedes move will be the making of Hamilton as a man. He’s got the raw skills to win; now he’s got to show his fans he has the ultimate commitment to do so.”

This bit made me go 'ah ok wtv'. I read through the article and it simply looks like DC is backing his :duckie: buddy while pointing out Lewis' strengths and at the same time highlighting the media-constructed flaws. DC is a critique after all and paid to write all this sh!t, so....

Of course I might be a bit biased since I was and am still a big fan of the best non-WDC I've witnessed in F1. :D

What kind of half assed support is that? You're supposed to say you can't wait to see him driving for the scuderia.
