It's funny Hammer how you must always bring McLaren down in a way to justify Lewis' move to Metcedes. While on the flip side go on and on how Mercedes are going through restructuring etc etc almost as though youre trying to convince yourself Lewis made the right move more than anything. But do you know who was behind the MP4-18 flop you so randomly selected... Adrian Newey. Funny that, we know your opinion of him now.

I wish Lewis well but it's "fans" like you who make me wish his Mercedes experiment is a massive failure and he'll be begging to come back. And I do think he will be back in a McLaren one day.

Grow up bud, I wasn't even putting down McLaren there...I was giving an example of a 'failure' chassis. What do you call the MP4/18, a success? McLaren ended up that year pretty good with the 4/17D it was a hell of a recovery project.

Jeez, I just put down a chassis which had one of the worst records in recent memory, I dont care which team built it. At the top of my head, a chassis which doesn't even get to race is indeed a flop and I can't think of any other team having to scrap an entire project that way. But it happens, alright? So relax, I wasn't having a go at your sweethearts at Woking.

I see some logic in Jenson receiving the driver's award.

Performance over the F1 season: Advantage Hamilton
Staying in a potentially championship winning team: Advantage Button

Then they should have given the award to Perez.

Readers vote for the drivers, the awards aren't decided by Autosport. The same readers that read the media bias week after week after week.

Logic for this one is quite simple too.

Performance over the past F1 season: Advantage Button
Managing to move to a better team: Advantage Perez
Actually being British: Advantage Button

As long as you don't take actual driving skill and results into consideration for the award, that logic is flawless. :hehe:

That's pretty awesome if you don't consider that the team is always potentially waiting to win a World Championship but never actually do. :hehe:

I think on that basis Mercedes(if you count them in their former guise) is the more recent championship winner....by two.

No, i actually agree with that Bud. I see Mercedes as a three year old team, it's why I put that bit in brackets. But it's been stated more than once on here that they're just a renamed Bar Honda. They're not.

Well In comparison to RedBull taking over a team (which has been used as a bench mark by some) Mercedes took over the reigning Constructor champion and in 3 years gone backwards. Redbull went forward.

I think you're smarter than that Bud. You know why Braun won.
Red Bull took more than three years to get a win, they've been Red Bull for eight years.
Anyway why are you arguing this in the Jenson v Lewis thread?
There's no denying Mercedes has a lot of hard work to do, but if Lewis gets wins there next year it will be more kudos to him than if Jenson gets them at Mclaren. But Jenson already has the mouth working overtime. He's taken on Lewis , now he wants a pop at Alonso. Well sorry Jens, you can mouth all you like, it won't put you in their league.
